The server does have potential but in the current situation of the unjustified "Legion" hype, it's probably a bad idea.

Opening a new server however is extremely risky. The current population would support 2 servers, the question is:

Are there going to be enough new players and are they going to stay?

I don't get what this fuss is about.

There are 2 potential outcomes, none which will have any negative impact on the PvP realm:

First one - a lot of people reroll/join the PvE realm and the carebears level up to 60 and quit after maxing their out their professions and other casual shit (they won't be missed)
The players interested in endgame content will soon after reaching 60 realize that they made a terrible mistake when they see the opposite faction organizes a suicide squad to keep ruining their Kazzak attempts, or kites Azuregos forever with no chance of stopping them, also other griefing such as mages polymorphing your mob so it regs hp makes it VERY tough to kill it if the mages timing is on point.
I guarantee you this will happen if the population is even half of what we currently got on the PvP realm, and a GM won't be there to hold you hand at a minutes notice.

The other outcome will be a complete flop, which obviously will have no impact on the server.

TL;DR - We either lose the carebears/serverfillers who might aswell play an offline version of the game (if that was possible) OR the server flops and everyone goes on with their day

Hmm.....I guess it may be hard to understand that perhaps players just recently started playing on this server and can't level to 60 in a day. People also enjoy playing the game by exploring and experiencing the environment. Others tend to enjoy grinding. Some may also enjoy 5 man dungeon runs. "finding a safer place to lvl and do quests" isn't so easy on a PvP server when some people prefer to not PvP. But even if that person did prefer to PvP, explain how they succeed at it when the level 60 is camping the level 35 corpse?

Let the pve carebears be in a prison realm by themselves. Good idea!

Enjoy zero economy with no solid/serious guilds caring to join unless newer fresher blood outside community joins (not likely).

It is a prison realm for all the pve casuals to dwindle and die and realize they are alone before quitting.

How is it harder for people of the same level to be in contested areas leveling together? In the beginning there would not have been campers 30+ levels higher than you, stretching your 1 hour questing session into 2 and a half. You actually had a chance against people of the same level, unless you were just unfortunate enough to be severely outnumbered. A bunch of level 30's killing each other in good old fashioned World PvP is not only easier than 1 level 60 (or multiple, if many tools are bored) camping a level 35, but is actually FUN!

As far as sharing zones with a ton of people, yeah, it can be pretty hectic. But all new games and servers have that issue and it isn't a product of simple douchebaggery (like campers who are bored or simply not skilled). I can't speak for everyone but I do know, from the people on this server I have talked to, it isn't the fact that this is a PvP server that is a problem, it is the people who gank and camp while others are trying to level their characters. PvP is fun. Asshattery is not.

Whenever someone enjoys something different than me, I like to be condescending and rude to them. I find that's a good way to treat people, and it has served me well.

So......the server will lose them whether it's to the new PVE server or they quit? What's the difference, then? And if you believe the PvP server will continue to survive without those "ppl who gonna quit soon", what's the harm in having a PvE server? Quitting or migrating......neither has a profound effect in your eyes so why complain about the creation of something a part of the community wants? Unless, of course, you are one of those tools who loves to camp a player 35 levels lower than you because you suck at real PvP..........on a PvP server......

I'm not concerned about people who "wont roll on pvp server". As you said, it doesnt matter if they stay here or roll in the pve realm.

The difference is that there is new players coming.
When the new players come and see 2 servers to choose they will choose according to what they prefer.
There are players that prefer PVE realms and would go there instead rolling on the pvp server (like they would have done if there was only one option, cause they just "prefer" pve, but dont ragequit if they get some ganks).
Then there will be two split communities that will eventually lose players.

For example: I prefer pvp but would have rolled on a pve server if there was only one to choose, and I wouldn't have bitched cause I know splitting kills. Altho I think a pvp server is more "blizzlike experience".

There are already pve players here that leveled to 60 without bitching about ganks.

But when servers start dieing, there will be two separate communities with low pop.
Should they allow transfers to pvp realm and close the pve realm, or the other way around? Should they keep 2 dead servers? Or will nost hype continue until the end of the times?

My experience in 15+ years on mmos tell me splitting is never a good idea for communities.

PS: and no I dont kill gray people. And wont even kill a lvl 59 when im done ranking. But if u guys cant enjoy wow vanilla just cause u get ganked, try harder please. You'll get 60 eventually.

Maybe spend that extra time on fixing the bugs that are existing instead of releasing a new server?

Forcing players to PvP make them better on playing their classes, no wonder pvpers are the best players both skill wise and dedication wise, they're are masters of every aspect of their class while PvE players just hit 1 button and think they play the game.

1 thing that WoW tought me is that, a PvP player can do easily PvE while a PvE player is keyboard turning without bindings/reflexes when it comes to mastering their class.

Don't get me wrong but just take a look at the bug tracker how many bugs are active after your "So.." claimed 4 years in development project.

Can't you just reiforce the current project with the best available hardware to reduce lag even more?

Is it really neccesary to split the population in order to balance the server?

if gathering proffesions is the problem, increase their rate to fulfil the needs of 5x more a normal blizzard server would.
