Legacy Realms....

I honestly feel this is in Blizzards best interest at this point. With them not reporting subscriber numbers and the last report dropping down to 5.5 million. They are most likely under what they originally started the game with over 10 years ago.

What does this say to you?

They are obviously planning to move on from WoW as their main feature of games with the current state of things. Or their planning went terribly wrong. Maybe if they release a new MMO(wtb hydra back) or announce something like legacy games soon they can recoup players before they forget. Overwatch is cool but its not something true MMO fans of blizzard want. Sure most people will buy it, but will it even compare to the revenue the World of Warcraft game gave the company for some many years? We will find out I'm sure.

They could bring back at least a million subs if they release Legacy Realms for each expansion. With an officiall announcement people would come back from all over just to play their favorite content again and again. They want what you had not what you have. Forcing a player base into something new won't work. Laying out more options for your fans to keep paying you. That's a good idea I think.

However if they are just bringing in higher numbers from less players. I'm sure they don't see anything different from a business standpoint. they do basically sell instant 100 and assortment of random items now. Why not just sell Legacy Realms too? next to 0 development time if they use (or at least support) fan-made projects (its just open source code). Would they even consider a project that supports them up front?

Just have a disclaimer about limited customer service on outdated games specifically in-game help for older versions of warcraft.

I mean honestly there's tons of players on privates or following these things right now. They would all go back to blizzard in a heart beat for something like this.

Could also require an current active expansion to the main game to have access to the old games.

It just another form of entertainment people are willing to pay for.

"We have the idea and sense that Nostalrius can no longer live if Blizzard does not accept it. Nostalrius was a fan made project; therefor, hiding it in offshore countries to continue against the original game creator would be a transgression of our principles, of the reasons why Nostalrius existed in the first place." - Viper Admin quote

It's so funny how Admins are saying this.
Like "we don't want to break law" by hiding in offshore countries.
Irony is strong in this one... Didn't you already did that by "stealing data" from Blizzard and making this private server in first place?
I don't see why relocating server to another country which has no relations with US would be such "horrible" thing.
It's totally same thing but yea, double standards or attention seeking ****

I think, as far as I can see, either Blizzard is too arrogant to listen to us, or they really don't think it is a feasible plan to offer a legacy server. Blizzard is a public company after all, which means the CEO's job is to maximise shareholders profitability!

The only way to persuade Blizzard to make decision is doing market research, providing reliable analysis to show it is profitable (at least not a lost) to start legacy server, for example, the possible sustainable subscription , estimated costs of maintenance, etc. etc.

Probably not worth the effort to respond to an account created today, which has only made that single post. Especially as everything in his post was factually wrong.
