My friends and I first came to Nost because we were bored of live servers and wanted to re-live the pure magic that was Vanilla WoW. We talked together about how Vanilla was for each of us and decided to put the time in to level up and experience those times again, together. Although we didn't reach max level, we had fun leveling through the zones, ganking in Hillsbrad, Stonetalon Mountains, Desolace, STV and our last visited zone, Tanaris. We were having a blast and never once thought about going back to live servers as we had everything we were wanting in WoW.
We then saw your announcement about shutting down, going to Blizzard about opening Vanilla WoW servers themselves and working toward that. We supported you because we want that but we also know that Blizzard really doesn't seem to want it. After they failed to mention ANYTHING about it, you yourselves took the promise you made us and gave your code to those you chose and believed had the same vision as you. You didn't want to let the community you helped grow down and made big steps to show Blizzard that you were serious even if they weren't.
Now you're back tracking on everything you stood for, why? You're willing to take the memories of not just myself and my friends but millions of others and throw them away because of what? You're betraying the community you said you stand beside and are asking to "give it back" to the people you put your trust in to carry the legacy because all of a sudden it's not the right move? It doesn't make sense. As much as I appreciate the stuff you've done thus far, I don't see the direction you're trying to go. I won't follow the road that leads to no Vanilla WoW.
If you're really keen on having Blizzard open their own server then stay on focus. If they really want to and you work with them to do so, a Private Server shouldn't scare them. If Blizzard shares your vision then they should know people would flock to a live version. They may say they wouldn't, some might not but most would. Until they actually announce something, which is highly unlikely sadly, let the legacy you helped grow continue to thrive. In the long run it's leverage you can use to show Blizzard that Vanilla WoW is a good move.Turning your back on those who actually supported your vision, is NOT the right move.
