unrelated to the queue fuss

Being that the pve realm will be starting at patch 1.4 and the current server is at 1.12 will this require 2 different installations if we wanted to play on both?

I could be wrong but the PvP server is at patch 1.6?

Worst case youd just have to delete your wdb folder.

Or people will use programs to not have the server log them off then get banned for using that program. The amount of work the staff will have to do to keep people trying to get around the queue in check is alone worth a higher cap.

They catch and ban for all that so please go right ahead and use those things so we can thin the herd :)

I could def be wrong, I thought it was 1.12 based on the main index of the forum saying "Nostalrius Quality Vanilla WoW realm (1.12)", and their facebook page also says Nostalrius Begings 1.12

yea it must be at 1.5, which was bg/honor system release, adjusted dungeon tier set stats/etc.. 1.6 is BWL release, which is on the ptr... why are they showing 1.12 everywhere then o.O

Server is running on 1.12 in terms of main gameplay systems, but they have disabled and changed ingame content from server side to be similar to how it actually was on pre-1.4, 1.4 and 1.5 etc.
They can change things server side. Client side changes will require for all of us players to patch the game as they want to, and that's bad.

This would explain why I've never had to patch, thanks for the info!

Nostalrius has a pretty good track record for kicking cheaters, so all those tricks would be at your own risk. Personally speaking, I want the cap to be there because I want the world to be populated only with the amount of people it was intended for. I do hope that they release more servers if the queue times are to long.
And lets take a chill pill. We don't know how extreme of a problem these queue times will be, if there is a problem at all. The Nost Team has a reasonably good track record of solving issues as well, especially considering that it is free to play.

Server will also be hyped due to cold winter months. Nobody mentioned that yet.
