What are you even talking about?
How are they going to use those 250k signatures to get a deal that just benefits them and not the legacy movement as a whole?

Those 250k people want legacy servers and - if we believe them - the Nost team does too.
The only reason why Blizzard is even talking to the Nost guys is because of this.

Sure, there is the possibility that they will talk about improving that pristine idea too, but why shouldn't they? As it is the pristine server idea is terrible, but that doesn't mean it always has to be.

Besides that I'm positive that even without the Nostalrius team mentioning it, Blizzard has caught wind of the fact that many people do in fact want to relive the old WoW experience and that it is at least worth to entertain the idea of launching official legacy servers.

Now in which way do you think they could profit off of this without us getting a piece of the cake?

I also belive that whatever this thing will be, Nost guys will earn money. This is not bad thing. Of course it is NOT an "ambassador" thing to do but anyway. I also believe that people in here will be convinced that this thing is what they want. They may even say "thank you for this! Pristine FTW"!

So, there is no need to argue. I will be here to either appoligize for what I am stating here or raise the finger to the ones with the big mouth. Because having an opinion is one thing. Having an opinion and talk trash to others is another thing.

If Blizzard doesn't support true legacy servers and only comes out with some bastardized pristine monstrosity, the private server legacy community will continue playing on private servers. I'll continue playing on Kronos, Warmane or new initiatives that pop up and avoid Blizzard retail and whatever half-assed attempt to cater to us, as will most of us.

But, I'll keep an open mind over the process and wish Nost and Kern well at their efforts. I think they have a very good feel for what we want and what will not work. If you think it is some sort of sell-out to support some horseshit Blizzard concept, I doubt any of us will go.

So, we'll see what happens. If nothing significant is accomplished, we continue on our merry way supporting alternate private servers.

Yes. Are you sure, though, that these "ambasadors" will negotiate for this? Are you sure they won't use these 250K ppl to get a good deal for them only?

Who else do you want to be the ambassadors? A bunch of forum idiots who haven't committed nearly as much of their time towards supporting a legacy community? Regardless of that, wheels are in motion and they ARE the representatives of this movement, forum whining/trolling notwithstanding.

Whatever deal is cut will be judged by us and if it is found lacking, we continue to do as we currently do... play on private servers and ignore retail. It's up to Blizzard if they want to take advantage of this opportunity. Half-assing a crappy solution won't trick us out of our money rofl.

I knew they wouldn't release the source code BEFORE the meeting with blizzard, but i'm hopeful that they might still release it if the talks with blizzard don't produce anything of value.

So without the source code, are we ever going to have access to our characters again, or is that separate from the full source code? If it is separate, would you guys still release that so that other servers might allow importation of our old Nost characters? Would love an admin response on this one if you guys have the time.

Looks like they either charged valiantly into battle and surrendered, or caved in when Blizzard offered something of little or no value in return. The players who want Blizzard to offer vanilla servers represent a minority of the actual emulated vanilla community. They rest of us already know Blizzard will f*ck up a vanilla server if it actually happens. The Nost team could simply release the code and database now and players would be instantly happy again as quality alternatives start popping up.

This is something i completely agree with.

If nothing happens after talks with Blizzard. Or they are just threatened... just release the code.

Make your own server? Stop trying to get the "source code". Its all MaNGOS and its all readily available to be downloaded if you can follow instructions. Sure your character will not be there but who cares its all 1's and 0's anyways. Yes it is shitty that they (Nost) go back on their promise but really the database and scripts are their own work so why share?

Or, perhaps... are holding on to what they have to not ruin an opportunity for legacy servers. There will be other projects popping up that will be just as good or better than Nostalrius. You got Crestfall and Classic-Warcraft that seem to be pretty decent. For TBC, Gummy's or whatever the fuck that is and Corecraft. (lol)

Guys can you shut up? Stop being retarded. They are obviously not going to release the source code just BEFORE meeting Blizzard. Seriously, stop being retarded.

Also, can you release a replay of Hinterlands Emerald Dragon release fight?
