Yes assuming they are blizz employees is far fetched but not 100% impossible. It was just an expamle to show that speculations can go in more than one way.

And yes you are right, the provider knows your name. But a provider in Iraq (just a stupid example) musn't give them your name just because they send an e-mail. I think it highly depend on where the provider is located. But we musn't discuss about this, because Blizzard anyway know who the Nost team is.

If Blizz does make legacy servers I'm also worried about how they would handle it. They might improve the social UI to add realid, or standardize some UI elements such as shift-clicking AH mail to loot, shift-clicking items to search for them on the AH, or try to fix bugs which some of us find endearing such as the boats randomly sinking.

I think that if they engage in this project then they need to break their policy of not getting involved in the community: for each minor creative change they should democratically poll whether it should or shouldn't be done. For example, increase the max number of debuffs from the start, which allows dot-based specs to actually work? Or allow people to exploit encounters like Vaelastresz until the proper patch comes out?

Nost did it almost perfectly, releasing important patches chronologically, almost RP-style. That should be the model.

yes to this and yes to nostalrius. nost wouldn't make an announcement if it wasn't thought out. it could be hosted anywhere else. that or blizz will cave. chris metzen left too they're not gonna be coming up with as high quality lore. perfect time to bring back old days. why can i play older generations of starcraft 2 but no previous wow. despite paying way more for wow through a subscription?

I think this would be best. There are many who want to get back on their old toons, and also many who would prefer a fresh start (like me).

Awesome! I enjoy both Legion and Classic/TBC so would LOVE to see an official host from Blizzard.
Nostalrius was amazing, and part of that was the size of the community though, so I can be pretty sure that if Blizzard DID do that, they would not allow 10k+ people on their servers at a time, but maybe there will be hopes of seeing the cross realm tech and other advances they having working in some way.

I would be skeptical to invest time into an actual private server again though.
This is now the third server I have played on that I have lost 4+ 60s at, and at 1x exp rate that simply turns me off severely.

However, if Nost DOES relaunch using the same character info we had before so I am immediately able to get back to playing, I would totally return.
Or if they allow some higher rate leveling but turn off end game content for a few weeks while people get back to 60? Sort of like how Legion does it where raids aren't out for 3 weeks to allow everyone to take their time?

Anyway, this can only be good news from my perspective. I am a casual lover of a few things about Classic and it would be AMAZING to get an official server up so we can all stream/record on it without any fear of it eventually going away.

They are going to do nothing at the Blizzard stop dream, legion is a success sadly and they dont care about vanilla.

Exactly, and if they do, they better not change the game more than nost did, but i think its a slippery slope, and im afraid they cant keep their hands off and feel the "urge" fo fix things - yeah that turned out great (looking at retail now) :?

Man you are so triggerd

Im just saying that wishing for blizz to not create their own legacy is retarded and contradicts what Nost set out to do in the first place when they saw a chance for it, that does however NOT mean that Nost should not endorse/put up the server again if blizz gives them and us the finger, now go back to your meds

L2read ples, I'm not against Legacy, I'm against Legacy hype, or "Something About Legacy in the Mist" that cockblocks private scene natural progression. P.S I'm not having any condition that require meds, except the one I mentioned before: I hate stupidity and naiveness so I guess my med would be "certain individuals" getting proper brain activity back in track. Anyway I agree that once Blizz shows middle finger Nost should come back or endorse other thing officially. Not because they "owe" us but because its kinda sad to see all of those people that played Nost scattered around into nothingness of low pop servers etc. Picking one server to endorse would atleast head people into right direction to have a glimpse of Nost somewhere else, hope you understand what I mean.
