Blizzard is not going to do anything for you. They took you for a ride to table the issues of legacy/private servers for as long as possible. Now that legion has been launched they are gonna fuck you over.

They might improve the social UI to add realid, or standardize some UI elements such as shift-clicking AH mail to loot, shift-clicking items to search for them on the AH, or try to fix bugs which some of us find endearing such as the boats randomly sinking.

I think that if they engage in this project then they need to break their policy of not getting involved in the community: for each minor creative change they should democratically poll whether it should or shouldn't be done. For example, increase the max number of debuffs from the start, which allows dot-based specs to actually work? Or allow people to exploit encounters like Vaelastresz until the proper patch comes out?

Nost did it almost perfectly, releasing important patches chronologically, almost RP-style. That should be the model.

Exactly, and if they do, they better not change the game more than nost did, but i think its a slippery slope, and im afraid they cant keep their hands off and feel the "urge" fo fix things - yeah that turned out great (looking at retail now) :?

This scares the crap out of me aswell. It really is a slippery slope. There should be no changes WHAT. SO. EVER. Pure vanilla is best vanilla.

Yup. I don't want to play on a custom server, I don't want "quality of life" changes, PURE VANILLA or GTFO. Anything beyond bug fixes is unacceptable.

Actually when I come to think about it I'd like to have vanilla content (talents, char progression, itemization) but mby a newer models and engine.

And here comes the slippery slope.

I recently understood that i'm waiting something more than Blizzard releasing Vanilla. Of course it'll be cool, but what if it REALLY works and bring lots of former and actual players? It would send a clear message to the industry that gamers still want "old-school" community based online game. Knowing the (sad) current state of the MMORPG genre, it could be a game changer for the future.

Yes, btw baited, btw old models suck :P the only thing old wow had better was "choice" given to players, how they wanna play, although after 10 years of that content its rather meta centric thing. Would be kewl to have polished graphics for that old content.

Assuming Viper/Daemon would force Blizzard's hand by relaunching Nost (which I don't think they will do). Could they even reassemble the team to maintain Nost in the form that it was being maintained? All the dev's would come back? What about costs? All the GM support?

Obviously a new/revised team could be built up for the relaunch, but I don't think they can just flip the switch back on just like that unless most of everyone on their team did end up coming back.
