Like who the fuck downloads a whole fucking client and all this trouble just for a 30 min test ?

-The ones that were sick by the abomination WPvP degenrated into on Nos PvP.
-The ones that, after playing WoW retail for years, ended up extremely disillusioned by what retail WoW degen...er..became what it is today.
-The ones that waited 10 years to experience again the WoW version they played in the beginning, quirks and bugs included, A.K.A. The 'Robinson Crusoes' of WoW.
All them plus others who took care to make sure Nos PvE Happens at all. Now we all know NosPvE will happen. Now there is no need to panic. If I find the time to play it everyday, so much the better. If not, I'll play as much as i can. Every day, or sometimes, whatever. Ill take my time. So will do many others. Point is, not everyone that partecipated in the stress-test will be onlne every day 24/7.
Like the Wallmart season discount: 2 days of mayhem and 363 days of smooth sailing
Further thinking: I have to agree that many players end up bored after reaching 60 and getting all the BiS items, and stop playing or just do the 'raid-logging'. One possible cure is to speed up content release, another to stop racing to 60 and enjoy 'the voyage not the end-line' like we did back then in old vanilla. One of the advantages of WpVp is that, once 60, your fun is not over. What I don't understand is why are the PvPers buttheading the PvE server. The 'carebears' didn't cry and demand Nos devs to CHANGE the PvP server in an PvE one, they asked for a server of their own, which Nos devs did. So what's the point in bashing something that you can consider as 'irrelevant'?

What's with all the "it will be like this - no, it will be like that"?. You don't know how it will turn out. All we can do is wait.

In the meantime, I'm happy I'm getting a chance to play WoW at least from the ground, and maybe up. On a PvE server. I'll be there when it launches, queue or no queue.
There are no two sides, there's only the group.

As another adult with a busy schedule, I am happy to hear about the 2500 cap. If it means some queue time, so be it (if the queues were to become completely ridiculous, I'm sure it would be addressed).

What's important to me is the quality of experience when I do log in. I am here to re-live Vanilla as close to how I experienced it for the first time as possible. Things like being able to gather enough materials to level a profession on the way to 60 are absolutely essential for that.

Having to fight over mobs with members of your own faction is also not Vanilla like (we all know that grouping is not always the answer).

Mainly though, I am just super excited about being able to play on a quality PVE server. If I want to take a lvl 18 NE to quest in Ashenvale (like I used to), I should be able to do that without having to resort to leveling elsewhere because of the constant griefing asshattery that goes on by high level players. What currently exists on the PVP server has very little to do with actual world pvp. But that's a whole other topic :)

I am extremely grateful to the Nost team for doing what they do despite all the toxicity I see around here. I don't think I personally would be able to put up with that. My hats off to you guys.

PS: Will be donating as soon as server launches.

Jaya wrote:A 2.5k cap is just asking for problems. People wont log out and just sit afk for hours using a drinking bird on the space bar making the queue longer. Or people will use programs to not have the server log them off then get banned for using that program. The amount of work the staff will have to do to keep people trying to get around the queue in check is alone worth a higher cap.

wait... 2500 players cap?

You think 2500 cap is too low? How many people do you expect to play regularly on NosPvE? Even if the stress test event was widely advertised, many players couldn't join due to their RL obbligations. The ones that could, did organize RL schedules so to be able to partecipate to the test event. How often could you do that? Every day of the week? just during the weekends? only when on vacation? And for how long? 2 hours a day? 6? And what about the players from the USA? at 2 AM when you are about to log off and go to bed, they just finished their dinner and are (maybe) about to log on. And those from LA are stil @work..but you and a big chunk of EU players are already catching ZZ's.
There will be peaks and downs like on all servers. On (hopefully) rare occasions the cap will be enforced, but most of the time it won't be needed at all. Pray the gods that I'm wrong.

If they dont need it why have it?

Reading all these QQing posts about how 2.5k is too low really just..grinds me the wrong way. You guys do realize that having anything higher doesn't only effect world PVP(which wont be an issue anymore) but also effects mobs, herbs and nodes availability? Not to mention server performances.. you guys would throw all of that away just for a more ''lively'' world? Which with 2.5k is plenty alive already. Do any of you understand how important that cap is? THE WHOLE GAME IS DESIGN AROUND IT, FROM THE AMOUNT OF MOBS INSIDE A ZONE TO RESPAWN TIMES OF SAID MOBS AND DAMN QUEST ITEMS THAT YOU HAVE TO WAIT 5MINS FOR. Altering these spawns doesn't completely resolve the overpopulation either.

Yeah lively, we came for hype, we came from crazy!

There are other servers with smaller numbers out there

There will be so many ppl that the queues will make you all cry.

Jump to conclusions mat, just sayin.

Even if there is a queue it won't be all the time, just look at how much the population on Nostpvp dips. In the mid morning time when I log on for a few minutes the population is usually a bit over 6k (pacific time). When I log in later to actually play, mid/late evening, that number has dropped down to a bit over 3k. That's half the damn population gone.

Per OP they had roughly 2500~ people show up on a Sunday, nostpvp realm is usually in the 8k range at this time, why are people assuming (see mat above) that its going to be upwards of 5k people playing there? It might peak at 2.5-3k, we don't know.. and will not know until launch.

TLDR stop jumping to conclusions

This post with all its assumptions and jumping to conclusions. You would think the poster would realise he was doing this.

Makes me wonder, what is the difference between forecasting and jumping to conclusions? Is there one or is it all just point of view?

Have you ever experience how retail was? Overpopulation is suffocating. I have no problem leaving the PVP server to play with retail like player numbers and the PVP server isn't going away anyways so you can still play on your hype/crazy server. Also if you would have read my other posts, there's no other decent alternatives. Thanks for spamming 4 posts in a row by the way...(why do I even bother replying to this)

When half this thread has been about certain ''all hell will break loose'' posts; its a little hard to read it all and try not to be the positive one for a change. I don't see anyone claiming that there wont be no queue and everything is gonna be a smooth sailing, but that doesn't make it right to conclude that the server will be a complete failure either especially when you want the cap to be changed right away without seeing the first results.

@ Zan My post was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of the post quoted. You seem under the impression I was commenting about the cap.
