You had a BRAND and now you've lost it. Not many people will go to valkyrie WoW even if you give them your code, just as not many people went to Kronos when you shut your server down.

Why couldn't you just pick up where you left off? I'm not gonna play any russian server where I have 200+ ping. Playing nostalrius with around 130-150 ping was fucking abysmal as is.

Ping is better on Elysium for US players than it was on Nost.... You can go check it yourself, assuming you live in USA.

I get 250 ping on Kronos and I'm on the west coast. No way I'm getting any sort of better ping from a russian server.

And how do you dickhead think is a russian host gonna protect the person behind the server? They still can sue the FRENSH admins you retard. Not a Server is what sued, the people are!

Maybe that's why they won't officially be the admins, but only "support staff" while someone else from Elysium will act as official owner.

Also, legal regimes can indeed be different in different countries.
If you holiday over in the US and shoot somebody in the face because he broke into your flat, you're likely to walk out of court as a free man. If you do the same in France, you might land end behind bars for quite some time. Even though you were a French citizen the entire time.

If hosting a legacy server in Russia was legal, I'm not sure they could be sued for it that easily?
Who knows, only a very good lawyer could assess that, but something like that could be an explanation

Elysium is pvp only No love for pve players from Nostalrius?

It seems exceptionally likely to me that whatever we will see - either with or without the old database - would be seperate from whatever servers Elysium currently has up and running, i.e. them launching new servers based on Nost' code base.

So I wouldn't really extrapolate from the server types, reliability or anything else to what we may or may not see in the future. My gut feeling is we will see a very close replica of the old Nost setup, but time will tell.

So continue to wait for crestfall then... damn and got hyped today...

Yep, they have become a brand, and would have had enormous publicity and player base..... But it's therr choice.... What they have told us is to go on Elysium and make a new community.. So, go there, make a toon and build it. Bottom line, it's the players and numbers that make a server great....
