Can a person with some knowledge tell people what the situation might actually be?

I'm sure the people behind nostalrius can see that "hype" and what people are reading into their message(the return of the server if blizzard falls through) but is that what you guys were actually implying? Would you have let the misunderstanding go on for 20 pages if that isn't the case?

Shed some light on the situation, stop dragging people along to stay relevant in the private server scene if you are done with it.

You could get a name change in vanilla, you had to send them an email and you could change a characters name once, and it was free of charge.

Last time when people thought Blizzard gonna announce vanilla servers they announced a little crap tool worth nothing!

And to be honest, I don't think that the Nostalrius team gonna announce a new server if blizzard don't. Blizzard know all their private information. Even if they'd have a server host out of Blizzards reach of power they just would sue the team without shuting the server down. That's nonsense and absolutely unrealistic in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong I hope so much that Blizzard gonna announce a real vanilla Server and even if not I hope for a new quality server like Nostlarius was - all other private servers out there a rubbish.

But I don't wanna dream too much because I don't want to get my dreams broken by another rubish tool of Blizzard. I think even if they announce a "legacy" server it would be any trimmed rubbish of the original vanilla. No thanks!

That announcement by Nostalrius is not more for me than speculation. That what Nostalrius said there: "As a consequence, if Blizzard doesn't make an announcement to honour their own core values, be sure that we will." is totally meaningless and the only thing we can do is to speculate about what it means.

And our speculation could be even negative. How could we know that the Nost team isn't employed by Blizzard since they had the meeting? Maybe this Nostalrius "announcement" just try to make us buy Blizzcon tickets? Speculation and more speculation. This all means nothing until Blizzcon or Nostalrius clarify what "As a consequence, if Blizzard doesn't make an announcement to honour their own core values, be sure that we will" means.

They wouldn't sue them. All blizzard is doing is protecting their IP under US copy write laws, all that is required for them to not lose control of the LP is to issue the C&D, they don't have to actually act on it if the party chooses to ignore it.

and they already got hit with bad PR for just sending them the C&D which Nost chose to listen to, out of respect and hopes that maybe blizzard would make it themself

and now it seems that Nost has woken up, they realize blizzard wont take legal action, it would only cost blizzard money to do that, they would get nothing, other then the worst fucking PR case they had ever seen.

If nost re opens, i would bet my nuts that it will be for good this time.
