Agreed. 2500 is too low. Nobody is going to want to play on it because they have to A: start over from scratch since the devs won't allow transfers(WHY?) and B: low population is no fun and hurts the economy as well as finding groups. The high population is what makes Nost great, IMO, but the lowbie ganking is what kills it.

Character transfers from the PvP realm will never be possible.

Welp screw the PvE server then, it's still possible to PvE on the PvP server x)
I don't mind nostalgia and all that, but i don't wanna waste my time leveling again :p

Exactly. It's pointless to not allow transfers. Many people have toons in the 30s and 40s. So we're just supposed to start over from scratch??? I don't understand this part in the least. I wouldn't mind waiting 6 months to get this feature. Not allowing transfers defeats the purpose of having the server. If you want to lighten the load on the other server, then don't have a cap and allow transfers. Then you eventually will have 2 balanced servers, if everything goes right.

Another big issue with not allowing transfers is that once the server opens, everyone and their mom will be trying to get on it and since they have to start over questing will be painful because everyone will be competing over early level quest objectives.

Sorry but the server is going to straight up fail with a 2500 cap and no transfers allowed.

Meh. I've got some mid level chars and I'm going to re-roll. If it means I get to play and AFK in a field or something without worrying about someone ganking me, I'm all for it. I loved the game back in the day but the community on the PvP server and especially the griefing became too much to handle. You can see it plain as day in this thread and others with the wailing and gnashing of teeth about scrubs and newbs and can't handle it, etc.

The NosPvE server is not a continuation of the current (PvP) server, it is a huge chance for a new, fresh start. And also for all that people that missed the Nos Begins start, and feel that they arrived 'too late' and missed the prom party.
And 2500 cap is not too low, in fact it is soemwhat lower than 'normal' Blizzard vanilla wow server population.
Considering that at the time of WoW vanilla Blizzard maintained huge 'farms' of thousands WoW servers, one more or less would mean nothing to them. yet, they insisted that, to their opinion, 2500 max was optimal for the world they created. Overcrowding sucks. We are human players, not sardines.

Super happy about the new server. I'm actually happy about the queue cap, I want the server to feel like retail and not the overcrowded nonsense that's on the main server right now. I think it's odd that they're holding off the launch to make hype videos though, since it's obvious that the server already has enough interest to launch with a high (but not overcrowded) pop right away.

Reading all these QQing posts about how 2.5k is too low really just..grinds me the wrong way. You guys do realize that having anything higher doesn't only effect world PVP(which wont be an issue anymore) but also effects mobs, herbs and nodes availability? Not to mention server performances.. you guys would throw all of that away just for a more ''lively'' world? Which with 2.5k is plenty alive already. Do any of you understand how important that cap is? THE WHOLE GAME IS DESIGN AROUND IT, FROM THE AMOUNT OF MOBS INSIDE A ZONE TO RESPAWN TIMES OF SAID MOBS AND DAMN QUEST ITEMS THAT YOU HAVE TO WAIT 5MINS FOR. Altering these spawns doesn't completely resolve the overpopulation either.

LOL! Ok fine, then implement the cap on the PVP server and see how that works out. It's the way the game was intended? That's why it didn't last right? Myself as well as others won't bother sitting in a queue to play a game. No server transfers is the straw that breaks the camels back for me. I hate getting ganked by level ??s constantly as well but I'm not starting over from scratch and not playing on a low pop server. Double whammy.

Barcs wrote:Honestly, what's the point of a PVE server if you can't even transfer your toons? It's a complete waste for people that have been playing on the PVP server and leveling toons getting ganked every 10 minutes. Now we have to start over from the beginning? So basically we get punished for not liking forced pvp but putting up with it the last 3 months? Sorry but it's pointless if that's the case. Why can't we copy toons to the pve server? It can't be that difficult. I'd rather see the devs work on getting the latest vanilla content out.

what you said there is just like saying ohhh why didn't they invent this kind of car 50 years ago ? I had to use this old shit from back then because of this. You started to play because that was the only option, now they had the resources and a huge amount of requests and they started doing this, the patches are different + the point is for the server to be fresh to give a totally new experience to people not have transfers on it. I think they know how their priorities work better than you do. It's not that difficult to level up and if you have a 30-40 on PVP just continue that or wait for this

You'd think you're reading an official Blizzard forum with the amount of whining that goes on here. At least over there people actually pay money to play the game. :P

Economy ruined due to having a normal server population as originally intended? That doesn't even make sense.
The economy is however completely ruined on the current PVP server, while low level toons cannot even skill up gathering, let alone sell the stuff.

If you're not gonna play on the new server, then don't. No real loss really. Do we all have to hear about it page after page?
