Well you said they are one of the slowest which I would say is incorrect, so no need to get all hostile Mr. Sensitive.
I would say if warlock and hunter are at the top, then priest is in the middle, not near the bottom. Priest is quite efficient for levelers, so what you said is still wrong, though your perception may differ, but it's still wrong.

Now, if you were to not upgrade your wand regularly then priest would be down there with warrior, but only a moron would level his priest like that, and I highly doubt you didn't upgrade your wand on a regular basis considering your leveling time.

The more I think about I don't really think there is a bottom when it comes to leveling speed outside of warriors. I think they're all reasonably fast excluding warrior. So my list would be: Top tier - Warlock and Hunter; mid tier - everything else (except for warrior), and bottom tier - Warrior.

So you kill mobs behind trees/hills/buildings, find out of the way spawns, go grind in an isolated location, make a big group to scare off gankers, level at off peak hours in hotspots (looking at you stv).

You have to do zero of that in a pve realm, all you need to do is follow a leveling guide to the letter.

Not everyone enjoys that though; suum cuique. I certainly didn't enjoy the PvP aspect of leveling at all; I just wanted to reach the maximum level the fastest way possible. Thankfully there weren't a ton of 60s at the time when I was leveling, which meant that I escaped the level 60 gank train.

i wish you where around the pve thread, i spent the whole time waiting for someone like you to show up with appealing points to a pvp server

unfortunately i don't have anything to say about why i prefer pve that can compare with the great points that you've made, except i just don't like being on edge, i just personally want to relax as i play like a casual.

and this is offtopic but i think you would do better to state your points without insulting people, some people get defensive and look past your legitimate points because you've insulted them

It's true I made some inflammatory remarks, I made them because the same damn people that turned retail wow into the shadow of its former self through endless crying about leveling and ganking are doing the same thing on Nost, and to a degree it's working.

I think PvE server size will be half of the current PvP server size.

It will attract some players too, overpopulation was too much, a fresh fixed start is even better.

I think this will benefit everybody, and most important thing people forget: if things go bad they can still merge the two servers.

Your huge mistake is the 1.4 items, people will probably play both server first days. Do you consider how your item cache messed will be? You have to delete it every time you change server!!!

Anyway, I hoped for TBC server more.

I think maybe you're letting your anger towards Blizzard that has taken root, out on innocent people who just want to discuss the possibility of a new server.

If anything this is a good thing for you as you won't have to deal with those players, as all the "noobs" as you would call them will be hidden away, obscured from your viewing. Now you can finally have peace.

The problem will also be that a huge numbers of players will feel that the 1.4 items are such a drag, having to suffer through it twice. I honestly don't see why the new server can't have the same progression as the one we have now, considering it won't take any time at all for it to catch up.

No they won't, if anything they will improve the server, as it gets too laggy beyond 6k players (which is what the server has most of the time).

^This

The server population is way too high, causing shitloads of lag and instability. I gladly welcome a new server to split the population a bit. 3-4k players online is enough; 7-8k is way too much, causing unplayable lag.

Less people means all of the following will be more difficult

It takes me on average at NA times 20-40 minutes to fill a dungeon grp for a popular low level instance like Scarlet Monestary.

It takes hours in the Que's of low level BG's.

Not as bad but it can take 10-20 minutes to find someone for elite quests.

Many people = Many items = AH Flooded = Strong economy*

this is one of the dumbest things i have ever seen. anyone who played vanilla wow knows that the cap at max was 3.5k concurrent players at once, even if the population split in half, it would be more populated than a high population retail vanilla server. stop your doomsday claims and false logic please.

3.5k =/= 7 million

The servers will be isolated

NOST = POP

Syrah wrote:Dear community,

We hope you enjoyed your time during Alterac Valley Saturday! While you were playing, many performance indicators were monitored to determine the power of this new hardware. The whole staff wants to thank every single one of you for participating in this stress test. Thank you for your support.

Your time was very valuable as we have concluded that the tested hardware can support 5,000 online players at the same time, without lag: the AVS realm did not crashed once in 24 hours, and used only a small fraction of the power available.

Nostalrius heard you and your desire for a new PvE realm, we now have the software and the hardware to do this, but we lack a crucial component: you!

We need to find out if not only the Nostalrius community, but the whole private server community is willing to join a new Vanilla PvE realm, with all of the experience from our team. If you are interested in this new server, please join "Nostalrius Begins PvE" (same realmlist) at 9pm server time next Sunday (2015/08/23), and this will allow us to estimate the size of this possible new community: Stay connected on this server for the 30 minutes so that our system can count you automatically.

The fate of this new realm is now in your hands!

Best regards,
Nostalrius.

F.A.Q.
How long will the "Nostalrius Begins PvE" realm remain online?
The realm will be online next sunday (2015/08/23) at 9pm server time for 30 minutes only.

Will we be able to transfer our characters to the PvE realm?
The PvE realm is a new realm opening; therefore, transfers will not happen. With this new realm, we want to give the players that missed the Nostalrius Begins opening a second chance and create a new competition.

What will the timeline be?
The server will start in a pre 1.4 patch. The content will be gradually released in the same order it was / will be on Nostalrius PvP Realm.

Of all the things that need fixing, unscripted content, and this is what they spend time on?

I'm sure they're doing both. Not every single volunteer/worker for Nostalrius has a degree in computer programming, so everyone has different tasks. The ones in charge of the code will of course focus on other things such as scripting.
