It's true I made some inflammatory remarks, I made them because the same damn people that turned retail wow into the shadow of its former self through endless crying about leveling and ganking are doing the same thing on Nost, and to a degree it's working.

unless i'm mistaken the changes made here are only going to be them making a vanilla pve server, i get that you might prefer pvp over pve but can you atleast admit to me that you understand that everyone has their own preference? on an interesting note by opening up this additional server you are enriching the pvp experience by getting rid of all the people who aren't interested, because most of those people won't have the gear or the skills to fight back. you could argue that the population will be reduced, sure. but do you remember when just 4k online was considered alot? the server is growing all the time so its safe to assume that it will eventually pick up from where it left off

Me too. But then it would put it at risk for Blizz shutting it down. So I actually prefer a slightly higher ping knowing they won't get shut down

Dear god, please please please don't start it pre patch 1.4, the horrendous stats on items is just anti-fun for everyone involved, it doesn't make anything more difficult, just more frustrating.

Praise Nostalrius for they have heard our cries and behold! they answer! I will round up all of my friends who were going to play this server with me and quit due to forced pvp and we'll be there. I'll bring coffee and donuts for everyone who shows up. This is the server we want.

These arguments against a PvE server are laughable at best. What are all the open world PvP supporters so afraid of? If open world PvP is so superior then there will be no decline right?

Nostalrius is a great server. I hated leaving it because of the open world PvP. I couldn't get past the regular ganking. I never QQed. I never asked for a new server. I just quit. I knew it would be tougher than a PvE server, but I couldn't continue to waste my limited play time running away and making extra corpse runs. Now that they are considering a PvE server I can't wait. If all that makes me a "weak" player then so be it. I am a weakling who wants his PvE WoW.

PvP servers also tend to get more toxic over time. It gets harder and harder for new players to level. There are plenty of examples of this, including the live PvP servers. I think many of the open world PvPers see the writing on the wall, and it isn't that Nostalrius will die out, but that Nostalrius open world PvP will. I hope it doesn't. I really do, because as a PvE guy I am not threatened by a PvP server. It is laughable how threatened PvP people are of a PvE server. A PvE server only makes sense.
