I don't believe in advertisement and hype videos that has nothing to do with the gameplay.
If you want to build hype, give us a date and we make sure to spread the word far and wide.

Well, I'm not here very often, but that's only because I'm patiently waiting. I'm checking if there's news, if not, I'll just be on my merry way.

The hype's gonna be back when they announce the release date. And about the video, it's just a matter of pride. They've seen what quality videos kronos has and they want to have the same if not better. That's all.

1 or 2 days headsup announcement for a 30 minute window of a test and they got around 2500 unique players logging in, I think it's still pretty safe to say the hype is not dead. There's just no reason to talk over and over about the same stuff which everyone and their granny knows.

With this server having double the numbers of indicated interest than when the PvP server was first released I could see it easily having a larger playerbase than the original server.

Many people left because they didnt get in early enough or didnt like getting ganked.

Now that the server has been around a while, as well as the advertising being well known, the new server sits in a position of greater exposure where it can draw an even larger playerbase.

Many people have real life obligations and cant play hours a day.

With a cap likely thousands lower than the possible number of players on the server the resulting que time wont be just a 30 minute timer with 400 people*, but multiples of that which is likely large enough to discourage many players from even attempting to log in.

The real question is,

If population is the health of the server, and also what made Nostalrius famous,

Then why is Nostalrius squandering thousands of potential players?

*400 People login on Feenix back when it had a cap of 3500.

Ps: You guys think its going to be a great to get your herb spawns, but what happens when you cant login to get your herbs.

The new server concept is strongly appealing against the older servers where a player starts massively behind. Thus I could see the Que being a persistent problem as Nostalrius PvE is likely the newest PvE server in the spectrum and will remain so for some time.

Roland said it. I love the high population of Nostalrius. I just don't like the ganking. With the PvE server, this is a dream come true. So why cap it?

The only problem left would be nodes. I think the nodes respawn rate could be affected by the amount of people on the server as a fix. So when it's 2.5k ppl, or normal, it would be x1 respawn. 5k people is 2x faster node respawn, and 7.5k is 3x. Just an idea.

People are fearing a half hour or hour que. It is going to be so much higher. What would the queue time be for the PvP server if you suddenly enforced a 2.5k cap?

If you doubt how popular the PvE server will be, take a look at the 158 page thread. You take a good long look at those pictures of cats and make a change in your life.

You're contradicting yourself a few times here. If a large amount of players decide that its not worth their time to queue up then wont the queue not be as bad? You think that people left or aren't interested in a PVP server just because of world PVP? If there's no mobs you cant do much anyways, world PVP or not.

There is such a thing about excess, is a 400lb+ person ''healthy'' just because they can last a lot longer without food compared to a average person? No. I don't buy the whole ''fill it up as much as you can so it can stay alive longer'' argument, there's servers out there that have been alive since 2007.

PS: It doesn't matter if we can't login if there's no herbs/nodes or mobs anyways. That doesn't make any sense, why would I play a game if I cant even play it because it has to cater to as much people as possible at all times. I hope that if they EVER tinker with the player cap, it'll be after at least 3-4 weeks of constant 2hrs+ queues.

Edit: I seriously doubt it'll ever become that bad though, also I believe that what happened to the PVP server was a first in the private WOW server scene; expecting 5000+ players again is quite silly and not normal at all.
