There is always choice between stand your ground and be a man of principle or become a liar and opportunist.

Luckily for me there are more than two possibilities, as I suppose there are for most, except you which I will not deem to try to take away from you if you are happy with just two possibilities.

I am not hurt by your lack of possibilities, not sure why I should be since I don't know you. At this point the only thing that hurts is my brain from hitting my head against the wall for the past three posts trying to assist someone with reading comprehension. So I will stop the action that is causing that pain.

Thank you Nost team for being able to get Blizzard to even talk about the matter.

Whatever you need to do to increase the chances they will listen to you sounds great to me.

We all hope for Vanilla servers and you are the best bet at making it official.

So the tweet that said "blizz agreed to meet with us (great) An announcement is coming this weekend!" was referring to the announcement that they will meet them (??) but before they do, they will not release anything adn that we are the ambassadors. You have to admit that when you read this tweet, this is not what you expected.

Is there anyone here (normal people, not fanboys) that honesty believe that we'll get a vanilla server? Pristine will happen (with some XXX and this XXX is something little they will give) and nost guys might have some part on this. I have to note here (to avoid useless fanboys whines) that I DO NOT accuse the guys here. I wish they will do whatever they dream of. Even if that means they will never get a vanilla server. They deserve to get a job there or get money out of this. But, there will be a post in the future that will explain that. Something like:

"Pristine is the closest we could get. We really tried. Pristine with XXX feature is a win though. As Blizzard employees we will do our best to make our dream come true from the inside! But first you should subscribe to the Pristine+XXX thing and show them that there is really a market here! Oh, and the source code. There is no need to release anything, since Pristine+XXX is here! See you online! Join us and we eventually MIGHT see a legacy server"

As I said before I will be here to apologize if we see a legacy server and I hope I am wrong. But feel free to tell me which scenario is the most probable; seeing another Nost with Blizzard's blessing or this.

This right here is what holds back open source. People take something huge. Something they could not have possibly developed all by themselves. Something worked on by hundreds, sometimes thousands, of people to get it to the point they find it. They make a few improvements and reap some sort of benefit. And it doesn't matter if that benefit is monetary or just the satisfaction that comes from achieving a goal. And now, suddenly, they own it. They get greedy and hold on with both fists clenched.

There's a term for people like that: leechers.

Without MaNGOS there would have been no Nostalrius. That's just a fact. If you're not going to give back to the community from whose work you benefited then that's on you. You're not obligated to legally, but morally, you disgust me. You took the Mona Lisa, painted a mustache on it, and called it your own original work.

Hopefully you guys do strike up some sort of deal with Blizzard. You guys seem perfect for each other.

I want to see Blizzard create a server for 60 cap, one for 70 cap, one for 80 cap.... past that I personally Do.Not.Give.A.F@ck.

If I play until I hit 60 and then I get bored, I would pay for a character transfer to the level 70 cap realm and play through that, till i got bored or was ready to progress to the level 80 cap realm and so on... again D.N.G.A.F past 80 when they removed the talent tree and killed WoW with kiddy BS.


The cap is what sets the economy, gear, materials that are farmed, and dungeons that are run...IE sets the experience of the game. You start a character on today's servers and it is all about getting to level 100 as fast as you can. All content, gear, materials.... none of it matters until you get to that golden number of server cap.

I would gladly pay 5 USD a month to play any single server (except the latest) and 20 USD (package deal) to play them all. Just keep it free of pay to win bull$hit and add a realm or 2 as the demand increases. (maybe make cross realm Battlegrounds with other like capped servers)

As for Nost team releasing THIER code to the public..... It is after all THEIR CODE!!!!
When the statement was made that they would release it, there was no other course of action left, Blizzard was brick walling just as they have always done. So the only way forward was to release and hope for the best that we would all find our way back to some server some how that would may give a damn and keep it free of Pay to Win money grubbers.
