I'm sure they'll take that into consideration.

I don't see how wanting to solely focus on PvE makes you a casual. I enjoy PvP a lot myself, but I'm not going to call people who focus on PvE in a game that is about 95% PvE, a casual. If you contribute hardcore with PvP then you might as well play DotA.

Finally a PVE realm. Hope the testing will be good and the PVE realm will be opened. Comming back to play vanilla wow again. Can't stand WPVP. Really don't have time pulling my hair if some 10+ lvl is corpse ganking me. When I come home after the work, I really want to relax and play some good old classic WoW, and really enjoy the game. But I hope for cross realm PVP and the cross realm linked AH. Now that would be awesome. See you in game.

Splitting the server will only speed up its death. Population is the primary determination of success and splitting it will only only lead to issues down the road.

WELL TOO BAD BECAUSE WE'RE TAKING THAT AWAY ! Have fun grinding alongside enemies that will /spit /dance and /taunt you but you can't attack them because of the pussy-shield.

Also makes no sense rp-wise.... You see an enemy and you can't attack him unless he agrees to let you attack him... Why? Will the gods punish you or what.

Kid... You were a toddler back when vanilla was released. Don't lie

Vanilla servers had the queue start at 3500 players.

Why this is GOOD
  • People who don't want to PvP can't be murdered constantly. It becomes a choice now. Places constantly referred to as cancer like Hillsbrad and Stranglethorn will be much easier to be in thanks to no gankfests. Dungeons won't be camped.
  • Open world RP is now more possible, although most contested areas aren't that good for it IMO.
  • Some of the elitism will hopefully be curbed thanks to PvPers not taking up a good deal of population. Some of us (PvPers) are good people, but some of us are unlikeable assholes.

Why this is BAD
  • Much like the launch of Nost, the first 2 weeks will be massive fights for quest items and mobs. That can turn off a lot of people.
  • Splitting the community, while not as drastic as one you might think, is still a problem. Friends might not want to move to the PvE server. Some RPers might want to stay. It's annoying, but it's true.
  • People are attached to their characters and progress. No server transfers (at least according to what's been said) or even copies will mean everyone has to start anew. Sacrifices must be made, but at the same time the process of leveling another 60 (or even more) can be tolling, especially to a freshly dinged 60.
  • Speculation, but I see more town trolling as a potential problem especially in lower level areas. You don't have to be flagged for PvP to summon Infernals or Dreadguards, and you don't need it to pull elite bosses into Goldshire or Tanaris.

If anything, this is fun. If you want to pull a world boss to goldshire then by all means. Please make the extra effort of taking it to stormwind, that would be hilarious

Also the community is not going to split. Maybe those lvl 1-20 will switch servers , but why do you care? They just add extra lag to the server... You realize how many people came to nost, found 7k players online and never came back? You might be 60 and not care about it but it matters a lot for lower levels. Leveling is hell with 7k online and this is not warlord of draenors , it takes 8 days to reach max level. No one over 23+ years old has the time to do that if it's going to be a pain in the ass. Just sucks that it had to be a pve realm...Would have liked a second pvp realm for all those who missed the launch of nost and would like a new race to 60 or a race for higher pvp ranks

Two schools of thought: 1) Those who are poor PvP'ers that rely on the PvE community who are 30 levels lower than they are for their PvP accomplishments. and 2) Those that genuinely fear that a community split will happen. Both schools are flawed. The community will be fine.

Clearly you have not experienced great World PvP because in the early days of Vanilla retail WoW there were epic battles in many contested territories and they were chaotic yet organized. They were also fun and sometimes lasted for hours. The funny thing is, the most memorable of them were on PvE (normal) and RP servers. All a PvP server does is KEEP you flagged. It takes away choice from most players. And true RP is about choices and the consequences of those choices. PvP servers take some (if not most) of that choice away and forces you to be tea bagged by bored level 60's.

Karma wrote:Splitting the server will only speed up its death. Population is the primary determination of success and splitting it will only only lead to issues down the road.

This is not true at all. The community itself (content of it's character) is just one of many things that make a server healthy. Other things that do this; GM's, bug fixes, smooth playing (less server lag) and competition, just to name a few. Overall server population isn't a key contributor because you will always have fluctuation and that is not going to stop or increase because of a new server. Splitting the community in half is a red herring.

In summation, here is what I have pulled from this thread:

-PvP'ers are worried their server will split.
-Poor PvP'ers who gank and corpse camp are terrified they will only have decent PvP'ers to lose to.
-Realists know that all the hot air is just that; hot air. The server will be fine.
-PvE'ers who only joined to have Vanilla back in there lives will now have a place to go.
-PvE'ers who didn't join because it was only PvP will now join to ADD to the community.

Bottom line: The world is not ending. The server will be fine. All non Blizzard servers fluctuate. And poor PvP'ing gankers say things like "Quit being a baby and get better at the game"; which translates to "I suck at all forms of PvP so to prove I am awesome, I come to this level 30 zone with my level 60 to one shot mages and tea bag their corpse while they wait for me to leave, I OWN YOU!"
When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire.

Yeah, look how dead Molten and WoW-Circle are. Oh wait.

The server right now is like a packed swimming pool. Players are seeing how full it is, or seeing that it lacks a hot tub, so they either don't join or find another pool complex that offers what they're looking for.

Opening the second server gives all those potential players a place to go, while actually ADDING to the overall Nost community. And many, many players, myself included, will have characters on both servers anyway.

Please tell everyone you know about the new server! It is very important that we have as many people as possible logged in to it on Sunday. To show NOS the huge demand there is for a Vanilla PvE server.
