Haha! Hello, pot; meet kettle. Seriously; those who live in bamboo houses should not throw pandas.

Two schools of thought: 1) Those who are poor PvP'ers that rely on the PvE community who are 30 levels lower than they are for their
PvP accomplishments. and 2) Those that genuinely fear that a community split will happen. Both schools are flawed. The community will be fine.

WELL TOO BAD BECAUSE WE'RE TAKING THAT AWAY !
Also makes no sense rp-wise.... You see an enemy and you can't attack him unless he agrees to let you attack him... Why? Will the gods punish you or what.
Clearly you have not experienced great World PvP because in the early days of Vanilla retail WoW there were epic battles in many contested territories and they were chaotic yet organized. They were also fun and sometimes lasted for hours. The funny thing is, the most memorable of them were on PvE (normal) and RP servers. All a PvP server does is KEEP you flagged. It takes away choice from most players. And true RP is about choices and the consequences of those choices. PvP servers take some (if not most) of that choice away and forces you to be tea bagged by bored level 60's.

This is not true at all. The community itself (content of it's character) is just one of many things that make a server healthy. Other things that do this; GM's, bug fixes, smooth playing (less server lag) and competition, just to name a few. Overall server population isn't a key contributor because you will always have fluctuation and that is not going to stop or increase because of a new server. Splitting the community in half is a red herring.
In summation, here is what I have pulled from this thread:
-PvP'ers are worried their server will split.
-Poor PvP'ers who gank and corpse camp are terrified they will only have decent PvP'ers to lose to.
-Realists know that all the hot air is just that; hot air. The server will be fine.
-PvE'ers who only joined to have Vanilla back in there lives will now have a place to go.
-PvE'ers who didn't join because it was only PvP will now join to ADD to the community.
Bottom line: The world is not ending. The server will be fine. All non Blizzard servers fluctuate. And poor PvP'ing gankers say things like "Quit being a baby and get better at the game"; which translates to "I suck at all forms of PvP so to prove I am awesome, I come to this level 30 zone with my level 60 to one shot mages and tea bag their corpse while they wait for me to leave, I OWN YOU!"
When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire.
