I hope blizzard listens to what we actually want, and not just have post cata Azeroth and their 'prestine realms' idea, it's nothing like vanilla, and would never would be. I just hope the Nost staff can get some sense into them

If I was Blizzard, and had decided I was not making a classic server, period.

I would invite them to our home offices the day they say they are going to release the code to stop them from giving the best server so far away to the already massive amount of private servers who would immediately start using it. I'd sugar them up with a Blizzard Tour, and free loot bags, a free lunch, and that remind them gently that I have allot of money, and can litigate them the for the next 10 years for the damage the release would do.

I'd feed them some BS line about looking into Vanilla servers still, and ask them to turn over their code to Blizzard, possibly even for some monetary compensation. I'd blow some smoke about keeping in touch with them should Blizzard develop a classic server, and then send them home, bellies full, goodie bags in tow, and maybe pockets a little heavier, and with a reminder of how bad the legal side of this could be for them.

All that Said, I really hope Blizzard just offers them a Job.

Consider that the "may" is only about the date, not on the fact they will release or not.

You're misunderstanding the license. As long as they don't make the executable software publicly available, they aren't compelled to release the source. See the GPL FAQ (here and here).

Man, I do miss the community of Nostalrius. Players on Kronos like to let us know how their server is better scripted, but I just loved how most people on our server would go out of their way to help you if you had a question, were lost, ect. It made me want to do the same when someone else was in need of some help. Seems like everyone on Kronos is quick to troll you before anything else. Lol & a side note, I still use Nost's forums over Kronos' when looking something up (i.e. talents builds or gearing).
