Just because you don't want to get ganked or focus on PvP for that matter, that doesn't mean you want to play on a dead server. You do have to realize that other people have different needs, and that your perspective isn't the only perspective that matters.

And if anyone is going to argue that, please share a video showing someone ganking you for more than 15 minutes - otherwise you are full of shit and it was really like 1 time but you decided to cry about it for a week and then exaggerate the hell out of the story with 0 proof.
I have a strong feeling this PVE server nonsense will hurt Nost overall. A large percentage of the people begging for it now, are going to get bored without the world PVP. It might sound like a great idea, but after you level to 60 with ZERO conflicts in contested zones, and run a raid once or twice, 90% of people will just get bored and quit (if they even get that far.)
Well you may have some sort of a point with the ganking resolving itself, but if you constantly get ganked by different players wherever you go it can still become extremely frustrating. Especially if you are trying to finish a quest in a zone, and it keeps being camped by 5 players of the opposing faction at all times. This can be solved by going somewhere else, but it may take quite a while for the previous spot to become "neutral" or in your favor. I also want to say that there actually are players who will corpse camp people for ages, though it is not the norm, but it does happen, especially in places like STV where players come back to "take revenge".
I hope you realize that the players who want a PvE server were never interested in world PvP, or perhaps PvP for that matter. I am sure you would get bored (I would probably too) on a PvE server, but please don't apply your own reasoning to other people. PvE realms (and RP) were quite popular back in vanilla (not as popular as PvP), and people have been playing on those sort of realms for ages, without quitting. I don't see any reason why Nostalrius wouldn't have one if they are trying to capture the "vanilla experience".
Talryx wrote:Don't forget - the real reason retail is failing is because they removed everything challenging from the game. World PVP is a critical component.
You actually NEED annoying/frustrating components in order to fully enjoy the fun parts of the game. Just like real life. If you just want to sit there and press a pleasure button and feel pleasure non-stop, why don't you just buy a dildo you fucking vaginas...
The reason retail is failing has nothing to do with PvP. PvP was never that popular to begin with. It's because there is nothing to do outside of raids, vanilla does not have that problem even if you remove world PvP from the picture.
No need to get hostile. If you really enjoy PvP then I don't really see any reason why you would be so mad at other people having a different point of view. Perhaps you don't really like it that much, so you feel like you need to defend it and insult people to convince yourself that you actually like it? Very similar to the reasoning of homophobes.
