Welcome,

let me explain situation a little to avoid confusion. Our hosting provider received claim from external company to terminate our hosting due to DMCA violation.

The problem is that our hosting doesn't operate on US soil which means DMCA doesn't apply to us. But it's known practice to eliminate competition by reporting them using that law.

Now it's up to our hosting provider to ignore that claim or act on it and terminate our hosting.

We are prepared for this scenario so nothing to worry about.

I dont know what to say, really sad. We were just about to have Nefarian on farm. I have been playing on this server since day one on and off and i could see myself playing here for a very long time. I was never a private server guy, but damn this account feels as important as my 10 year old retail account. The memories, the hours, the friends, the laughs, the raids, being destroyed by chinese premades at 4 in the morning, the loots, the corpse runs, the nerdrages, the ganking everything was a pleasure.

Farewell to the best Developers and Game masters that made me remember why I fell in love with this game in the first place. And a Kudos to everyone for making this server the best private server in the gaming fucking history!!

The problem was a single point of failure: the hosting company. The solution is to split up the work done by one hosting company into thousands of individual co-operating hosts.

We are currently living in a digital dark age. Information is scarce because of greed. History will continue repeat itself until technology allows us to evolve past this pain point.

Make sure to boycott OVH as well for the way the handled the DMCA. Obviously not someone who you'd want to be in business with when they instantly caved.

Seriously, why would you host in France, knowing that they are within reach of US law? Host offshore, or in Russia like those idiots at Feenix.

I highly suggest you copy your database right quick and re-host to a Russian server. Get in touch with some players. You may not be able to be the controlling persons anymore, but it would be the best chance for the players. Russia wouldn't enforce US copyright law, or it would be too costly to litigate.

And I want to thank all Nost team for amazing opportunity to revive old memories and to have lots of fun. It was wonderful time and I'm very grateful for it.
