I think they asked you to give it to them? Their admins are corrupted as hell and their server maintenance is total garbage. Trust me. I know that through publics on vk.com

Server is in France... stop talking bullshit.

Everyone complaining about WHO is getting their code needs to just stop. WHO is getting their code is irrelevant to us. The only two important pieces of information that matter are:

The source code will be first given to an existing Legacy project which we believe to be the most in line with our core values.

Furthermore, an important part of Nostalrius' volunteers are already working there, some under different names.

This had to happen this way. Stop and think about it for a minute. Blizzard HAS MET ALL OF THE NOST STAFF. If Nostalrius put up another server with their name, with their staff.. What do you think Blizzard would do at that point? It's not about playing whack a mole with a server company anymore, it would be a direct lawsuit involving these individuals.

You say "what a let down" ... I say "welcome back"

As far as I'm concerned, this is Nostalrius with a new name, using a new server as a means to hide from and undermine Blizzard.

Edit: The server is not hosted in France..

It's hosted in Ukraine under the company OWL PROTECT LLC.

For the record: we never found out if they do.

Nostalrius chose to voluntarily comply with Blizzard's CoD letter - this never went to any kind of court. And I can't blame them for it, the stakes are very high and they would have faced a company with endless cash in front of court. And of course, we have no idea how the court would have ruled.

But bottom line, afaik we don't have any clear legal clarification whether hosting something like Nost was actually illegal in France.

Also somebody mentioned Elysium got CoD letters in the past, but just ignored them, and nothing happened so far. No guarantee it'll stay that way, but point being - Nost' reaction to this letter wasn't necessarily the only one available.
