I just created a forum account just because of this.
A few things to consider:
Ganks: I am lvl 30 and still haven't had much trouble with ganking or PVP, overall, people are more interested in minding their own business, with the ocasional redridge rogue here and there. Compared to Vanilla, there is less ganking and PvP, paradoxically, probably because in Vanilla those people existed, but they only had you to kill, not the massive amount of players we find here.
Economy: The economy just wasn't designed for this amount of players, I play in America, so I don't generally get too many people trying to mine the same nodes all the time, but still I sometimes find it wayyy too hard to farm materials and kill certain quest mobs. I imagine for europeans this is likely to be a big issue.
Lag: This is a huge problem. Too many DCs and roll backs 5 minutes away, too much time lagging overall. This worries me, as raiding with lag is a no-no, and getting 40 man raid groups back after a DC can be difficult.
New servers: They tend not to attract as many people. I remember when blizzard launched new servers they all ended up as low pop hellholes. But at least they didn't actually "kill" the original ones as some here claim. However, because of the problems listed above (which vanilla servers mostly didn't have), I think it may end up being a success.
In the end I think the PvE realm would work. A good opportunity to roll a character in the other faction. + less lag for all. HOWEVER, it would be a good idea to add a free transfer option after a while, this was THE BIGGEST issue from vanilla to cataclysm (and the main reason I took breaks from wow), which blizzard only fixed after it was too late and they had already ruined gameplay.
