Hello all!
I registered here just to cast my positive vote for a PVE server.

I think it’s a very good idea to open a PVE server. I currently play on PVP, but will gladly re-roll on PVE when it opens.

Unfortunately, opening server for a brief 30 minutes on Sunday night may not give the accurate picture on user demand for a new server as many of us simply will not be able to login during that time.
For people in the US it will be 3PM+ Monday and many of them will be at work (including myself).

Regardless of the Sunday’s test, I hope the PVE server will be implemented soon.
I’m hoping for a stress-free exploration of new zones, questing and if I ever miss ganking/OWPVP and corpse running, then I can always enable my PVP tag next to an opposite faction town…

I just created a forum account just because of this.

A few things to consider:

Ganks: I am lvl 30 and still haven't had much trouble with ganking or PVP, overall, people are more interested in minding their own business, with the ocasional redridge rogue here and there. Compared to Vanilla, there is less ganking and PvP, paradoxically, probably because in Vanilla those people existed, but they only had you to kill, not the massive amount of players we find here.

Economy: The economy just wasn't designed for this amount of players, I play in America, so I don't generally get too many people trying to mine the same nodes all the time, but still I sometimes find it wayyy too hard to farm materials and kill certain quest mobs. I imagine for europeans this is likely to be a big issue.

Lag: This is a huge problem. Too many DCs and roll backs 5 minutes away, too much time lagging overall. This worries me, as raiding with lag is a no-no, and getting 40 man raid groups back after a DC can be difficult.

New servers: They tend not to attract as many people. I remember when blizzard launched new servers they all ended up as low pop hellholes. But at least they didn't actually "kill" the original ones as some here claim. However, because of the problems listed above (which vanilla servers mostly didn't have), I think it may end up being a success.

In the end I think the PvE realm would work. A good opportunity to roll a character in the other faction. + less lag for all. HOWEVER, it would be a good idea to add a free transfer option after a while, this was THE BIGGEST issue from vanilla to cataclysm (and the main reason I took breaks from wow), which blizzard only fixed after it was too late and they had already ruined gameplay.

I know a lot of you guys seem nervous or upset about the idea of a PvE server; but I can say for certain that I this will bring back about 10 or so of my friends, 11 including me.

We all desperately wanted to play here, but once we reached the level 30 - 40 area's, it became nearly impossible to accomplish anything for more than 10 minutes before every NPC/Quest mob or ourselves were being mercilessly slaughtered. I understand the appeal of a PVP realm and the importance that PVP has in wow, but the current state (at least when I last played) was unbearable.

I look forward to being here on Sunday, along with all of my friends, especially including the many friends I made while I was playing. I sincerely hope that Nostalrius continues to see the success it's been seeing and more.

Thanks a lot for all the amazing, (not to mention) hard work you've put into this.
