16 staffers. That could be any 16. It could be 16 GMs that selectively banned players from competing guilds/helped their own out. It could be 16 devs that couldn't script something as basic as a low level epic proc to work correctly. No one knows. Why'd those 16 staffers change their online handles? No one knows.

You're assuming that the code merge will go smoothly, if at all. MaNGOS is fucking awful. Chances are they're just gonna stick with old valkyrie code, since they did the same shit when getting SC's code.

Most people here were from scriptcraft remember how shitty valk wow (elysium) is when it comes to managing servers.....honestly trying to save you guys some future disappointment. it wont be nost 2.0.

Fair enough they had a bad project before, but I played on elysium over the past few months. Granted nothing major, I think I am in the 40's, but all dungeons have been good and all quests have been good. The major issue on that server was/is the population... it was just hard to get used to 1200ish people in the world after 10k+ for so long

Point is that people learn, and with the addition of Nost devs to the team it can only get better.

Hope you guys will configure server by yourselves. Because I know russian language and when I was looking for vanilla server before joining Nostalrius long ago, I tested that valkyrie-wow. It was unplayable project full of bugs. Think nost staff should know this information.

We will be gratefully accepting the core and player database of Nostalrius. This means that Nostalrius, exactly as you know it, will be returning. This puts my mind to rest somewhat (although I'm still slightly disappointed after all the hype Nost generated), as both Nost and Valk have their shit together and their combined forces could create something brilliant given enough time. Centralising a lot of players in one place is generally also a good thing although it may make Valk an easier target.
Oh and I finally get my 39 warrior back, thank fuck. I'll miss old Nost though.

Elysium, as a server, will remain up for your enjoyment until the new server is complete, but any changes to your character after this announcement will not carry over. Additionally, in regards to character names, Nostalrius will have the priority. This means that Elysium characters may be required to rename at the character screen when time comes. Furthermore, all items from Elysium will be downgraded to match the 1.9 Patch itemization of Nostalrius.

This doesn't put my mind to rest though, I'd be pissed if hypothetically Nost was still here but another big server received the banhammer and we subsequently absorbed them losing potentially my username and items I worked hard for. I pray there's little sectarianism between the two servers.

Don't get seperated guys, it is good thing nost core isnt public.
lets all continue on elysium, one of the better parts of nost was its players.
if we don't get seperated it will be all over nostalrius again, even if you don't think so, just give it a chance.
