Nostalrius Final Days

Nostalrius,

There are no words for the loss we all feel seeing this community take such a blow. Nostalrius has been so many things, but for me it has been a humbling experience. For the first time since classic retail ended, I rediscovered the thrill of adventure and a sense of community I thought lost to the MMO genre. The community and personal connections with fellow adventurers that so many of us have lost over time in retail, we instantly found again here. Thank you for letting us re experience what actually makes this genre so magical. Thank you for bringing back the human element of gaming.

Multitudinous thanks to all of the Nostalrius developers and GMs and anyone else who helped create and run Nostalrius, and to all the players too - it was a truly wonderful experience to be able to play on this server, to rekindle memories and to re-live of the great days of WoW.

I hope someone is able to pick up where you left off. For us players it will be a shame if we have to build characters from scratch but not the end of the world.

Very sorry to hear about the funding issues even apart from Blizzard's action, I imagine many like me did not read the forums until the announcement about the legal notice and therefore were not as aware as we should have been.
