Stormrage isn't released yet. I've signed up to their newsletter for a release date once they've made one. Whoever releases first gets my 11 friends and 1 that are so desperate to play on PvE together!

Ah okay, thanks for the headsup, I wasnt even aware of its existance :)

I'll go to whichever opens first, so long as it is playable. Would be a shame for Nost to say they will make an announcement in a "few weeks" and then be like "j/ktoobusywithBWLlol" Hopefully they have more compassion for their players than that.
I haven't played since the announcement, and I know a lot of other people haven't either. Would be a terrible opportunity for them to miss!

BWL was a massive undertaking. I'm expecting some news in a week or two after the team has had a chance to breathe and refocus its lense.

^ All of this.

I can surely appreciate how much work has gone into BWL, but it would be cool for the gang to throw us a little bone with something as simple as "We've been busy out of our minds...hang in there guys PvE is still coming!"

I have to agree. As someone trying to get a guild going, three weeks of dead silence hasn't been very helpful. Just some acknowledgement by the devs would make me and the guys in my guild feel a lot better. Can't say I don't understand though, the BWL patch seems to have brought a ton of bugs and some mistakes as well.

Silver lining: the PvP server is basically the test server for the PvE server now. Our eventual BWL launch should be smooth sailing. :P

They have a lot to sort out, you need to give them time. Having said that, throw a frickin' bone to your community Nos.

Thanks for the suggestion of the other server, as impolite as it is :p. I'll check it out. At this point I'm not really happy to play on Nos servers due to the bans and non-Blizzlike changes.

I don't understand the obsession with "Blizzlike". Vanilla wow wasn't perfect, and my guess is that the reason most people come here to play, is because of the challenges and mechanics offered by vanilla wow, not because "gear from WSG was available a few months before AB back in vanilla".

The fact that some battlegrounds and items are or are not available exactly in the same chronological order as Blizzard released them doesn't really change anything about the game mechanics wise. In fact for some classes it serves to rectify some of the itemization gaps from vanilla wow that blizzard unambigously failed to correct and later admitted they could have done much better. Surely picking up a few hints from what was not as well balanced as it could have been back in the day shows this? Vanilla wow is a game, not some impossible to improve religious scriptures handed down by infallible omnipotent divine beings.

Running Stratholme, Dire Maul or MC and BWL with a pair of epic bracers 2 months before they'd been available back in retail isn't going to take the server from "Fully and completely blizzlike with the challenges and charm of the original game retained as they were" to "Nonsensical and irrecognizable fun-server with no challenge or similarity to the original game".

I know it takes time, but those two private servers already have people commenting on their forums saying to "hurry it up, because Nostalrius is releasing their own PvE server."

Didnt know about them, thanks. For me it seems that pve server is a secondary or even worse priority in Nostalrius, a shame.

Just to clarify I'm not opposed to Nost-like, some vanilla, Blizz-like stuff will need changing on a private server to protect the majority of users.

However:

Banning people for blizz-like actions - see the AV pre-mades
Banning people for uncertain blizz-like actions - see the miners
Breaking DM Tribute in an unblizz-like way so no one can do it, when a blizz-like fix would have sufficed

That says to me that there is a secret Nost-like path to follow and if you try to do something clever, something challenging, something you thought were within the rules, you might lose your character. It's not a stable way to play.

I only stop by here to check the forums every couple days - I'm not interested in playing on the toxicity of the current server that has rules/TOS that are never/rarely enforced. I don't care about getting ganked - I've been on both ends of that spectrum there, but the asshattery and venomous attitudes of a big chunk of the playerbase on the pvp server is why I won't log in any longer.
