Vanilla wow wasn't perfect, and my guess is that the reason most people come here to play, is because of the challenges and mechanics offered by vanilla wow, not because "gear from WSG was available a few months before AB back in vanilla".

The fact that some battlegrounds and items are or are not available exactly in the same chronological order as Blizzard released them doesn't really change anything about the game mechanics wise. In fact for some classes it serves to rectify some of the itemization gaps from vanilla wow that blizzard unambigously failed to correct and later admitted they could have done much better. Surely picking up a few hints from what was not as well balanced as it could have been back in the day shows this? Vanilla wow is a game, not some impossible to improve religious scriptures handed down by infallible omnipotent divine beings.

Running Stratholme, Dire Maul or MC and BWL with a pair of epic bracers 2 months before they'd been available back in retail isn't going to take the server from "Fully and completely blizzlike with the challenges and charm of the original game retained as they were" to "Nonsensical and irrecognizable fun-server with no challenge or similarity to the original game".

I agree. And you can always just choose not to get the bracers.

Thanks for the suggestion of the other server, as impolite as it is :p. I'll check it out. At this point I'm not really happy to play on Nos servers due to the bans and non-Blizzlike changes.

Im -really- beginning to feel the same way :( Though Ive stopped on the server now, not fond of the general mentality in game from players, but perhaps Ive been unlucky. But the overall lack of communication combined with what you just mentioned is starting to get to me as well. Perhaps its because Im new though, finding it hard to get to the bottom of things, not really knowing all of it in depth, but just hearing and reading this and that you know, a name as Grizzly appears, then various bans, then this and that in the past as well - knowing so little of what it was about. Not that it matters today still, but you know.

Hah, yes, you are right, it is impolite! Im checking it out as well, so far it looks quite solid, open communication and dedication, but who is to say at this point, of course :) It seems a mystery to me, that a Private PvE server has been so hard to come across all these years, and now by the looks of it, more than one will arise!

I think its near impossible to imagine the work load those responsible for running the server are putting up with too, good to keep in mind!

Honestly the nost pve server will probably be more scripted because it already has the pvp server to take info from, plus if you already have a 60 that raids every week it would be nice to not have to switch realmlists. But hey if the other server is scripted just as good and communicates then I'll check it out

I registered on Stormrage's website and made a comment on one of their posts. 15 MINUTES later they replied to me. Crazy. Lets see who wins the race!

Hello there,

With the BWL release every team is pretty busy but *something* is coming this week regarding the PvE Server.

Best regards,
