Only thing I am weary about is the N.American pop in the middle of the night is like 3.6k on a tue-thurs.

A PvE server could drop it to, 2k or 1.5k

I don't think that is desirable what so ever

Also I'm pretty sure there are plenty players who would gladly donate small amount jut to support your work, help you get better connectivity and else...is that possible or?

Please please do this, I would much rather wait an hour in queue than deal with this bs.

It is very, very, very desirable. The hard cap for vanilla servers on retail was 2.500 players and that has its reasons. I'm not really in favor of a PvE server (mostly out of personal preference), but the population NEEDS to be split and if there's enough demand for a PvE server and it'd serve that purpose, then fuck, fine, do it.
Playing with 9k people online on ONE realm is fucking insanity.

Honestly though, while this may seem like the unpopular opinion among all the people complaining - most people on this server probably sticked with it due to the "crazy" population, myself included; I mean, it's just as easy to change over to Kronos or Emerald Dream, which have medium-high blizzlike populations.

After so much time playing this game over the years, I've never really felt a world as uniquely alive as Nost's. I just hope whatever they're going to do doesn't harm that.

Can you provide a source for that?

People keep posting different numbers, ranging from 2.5k to 5k and everything between but I've yet to see a credible source backing any number up.

This.

I can't think of a single reason to start a second Nost server when there are plenty of good vanilla servers out there that people can move to if they don't like the results of the current high pop here. Moving to the second Nost server would be no different from moving to Kronos.

I personnaly like Nostal and don't want to go on other servers. But a new Nost server could be good especially a PvE one : a lot of people even with a new server, so don't worry about the first one ;)

I have no source but I can tell u that around BC the most populated servers had around 5k people

...so if I would guess I would say @vanilla there were like 3k ppl on the big ones :)

--------------------------

I would also suggest to open a new server asap, the lag makes it impossible to play atm, I dont care about DM/BWL/patch whatever release, just make it playable again :)

Why on god's green Earth would you try to push players to Nost's competitors, that's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Also there are hardly "plenty" of good vanilla servers, the only decent Vanilla server that isn't Nost is Kr and that server has barely any players on NA times and to expect people who have invested time and energy into Nost to just leave is stupid and you're stupid for suggesting it. As for your "no good reasons to start a second server", the server experiences significant lag for almost everyone after there are more than 6k players online, not only the lag but also frequent disconnections for many users as well, this is after the hardware has already been upgraded, quality has been reduced (like player and npc draw distance) to help the server load and these problems still persist, to say there is no issue is a severe understatement. Those are just the technical reasons for why a 2nd server is needed, some people simply don't want to play on a PvP server and that will attract more players assuming the 2nd server is PvE, 10k players online at a time is also too much for any server, not just a vanilla one, there are no mining or herb nodes, there are no quest mobs, the world is so cramped that in almost any zone you can't move for 60 seconds without getting into a fight with someone of the opposite faction whether you want to or not, whether its a fair fight or not, and if you lose? You're forced to spend 5 minutes walking across the entire zone just to get back to your corpse to get killed by the next person to walk by or the mobs that respawned on you because the server spawns mobs at a ludicrous rate because of the amount of players on it, this server is great but there are objectively too many people on it, quality is impacted, gameplay is impacted and people's connections are impacted simply because there are too many people on a single server, Nostalrius NEEDS a second server if they want to continue growing and they don't want to see people give up on their laggy, crowded, rage inducing server.
