Not sure what you all expected given the hype this server has received. It is disappointing you've not had a plan in place for this.

Dude, are you for real? If anyone had suggested before launch that the population would climb past 6k in two weeks, they'd been laughed out of the forums. There was NOTHING visible pre-launch that Nostalrius would be as popular as it has become: not facebook likes, not forum accounts, not email subscribers - nothing. As far as I know, no other vanilla server has ever been this popular or even near it. ED apparently had more than 1k players at some point but that's it.

Now you, with your perfect hindsight on top of your high horse, blast them for not being prepared enough.

The update we applied this morning should improve server performance a bit (~10%), and fixes bugs. You will have a complete patchnote tomorrow.
Spawn rates are not modified for now.
