I think it is about time that Nostalrius start to "help Blizzard to honor their core value," since there is no way they are gonna say anything about legacy server on the short run...

So is it going to be an angry facebook post or a twatter tweet?

What will you do?

I may be completely wrong, but it seems to me there are two possibilities here.

1. Bliz have no intention of bringing back Vanilla and this whole thing has and is basically stalling tactics to confound and disperse user-base anger due to the massive bad PR that came with it.

2. Bliz really have been busy as all hell getting ready for BlizCon and new content and - which is reasonable - their existing game, with the existing millions of players, which is about half of their total revenue, has come first.

I'm curious to see what Mark Kern has to say about this.

My kinda view is Bliz don't really worry about Vanilla that much. I suspect they don't care and/or are rather oblivious to the PR (big companies are always extremely insulated and remote from their customers); they're just getting on with business as usual. We just don't matter very much. That means they'll get to their Vanilla decision in their own good time (and probably decide against it, I suspect - they basically don't want to do it).

Problem is, the Vanilla/Nost community is not in the same place and so there's a mismatch between Blizzard's behaviour and the expectations of the Vanilla/Nost community. It's been what, half a year now? I suspect there's only so much waiting around which can happen, because if Bliz really are going to say no, then we need to get on with Vanilla for ourselves, and the longer Bliz take, the longer we don't have Vanilla.

Totally my thoughts since the beginning, at some point I forced myself to believe blizz might actually do this thing because why not (but even then I still thought they would fuck it up one way or another). About Kern... i feel weird about this guy, seem like a PR move for him all the same tbh. And if we go full tinfoil i'd say Kern helped Blizz to stall the game, aka took the role of a good cop that is all about us, caring and helping, so we actually believed thing is possible and stopped boycotting blizzard platforms till "we knew more". Meanwhile they could cash-in on Overwatch and Legion release. We were not a priority for them then... and we're not now (even patch for Legion gets priority) and I feel we gonna be even less of a priority the more the Legion is found enjoyable by some people. I feel like Legion would need to be OVERWHELMING disaster for Blizzard to actually turn their eye to Legacy. As long as they get mixed or positive feedback about their content "from internet" (hur dur, yo alex) they ain't gonna provide manpower / money for legacy.

As a consequence, if Blizzard doesn't make an announcement to honour their own core values, be sure that we will.

In the end, pleasing the community is the ONLY thing which should matter.

Go ahead, honor your own core values, im waiting
