Thanks. I'm sure it was mentioned in here before, but I don't really have the patience to flip through 40+ pages!

Ouch, the timing.

I'm wondering right now if this might actually lead to them rushing the release of the servers, and we end up with lower quality servers, because none of them want to end up like Kronos.

That's not really it. While the timing had some influence, Kronos lost because people had no faith in it. That server had some incredibly bad PR from some of the people trying to shill it on here while being so obnoxious and dishonest that it just made everyone feel better about choosing Nostalrius. That and the promise of sanctioned character trading/selling made Kronos sound really unappealing.

Timing isn't that important. They were only like two weeks apart. At this stage, that shouldn't matter in the slightest, yet here we are with Nostalrius sporting ten times more players. If timing was all that mattered, we'd all be on Feenix or whatever preceded it. The fact is that Kronos didn't attract very many players, and most of the ones who did try it left the server pretty quickly while Nostalrius has retained its population.

Depends what you look for in the game. The only thing i missed from vanilla was the old alterac valley.
And since nostalrius promised old school pre nerf version, and kronos did not. It was an easy choice.

I´m sure they won´t do that, but of course I cannot be sure of anything :)

Right, okay I see, thanks for the clarification :) Ive been out of the private server world for a few years so not caught up yet. Now it makes more sense, surely two weeks couldnt have mattered that much, if it was -just- about the time :)
