Valkyrie WoW has been around for much longer than Nost, or any of us have played Private Vanilla WoW. I am concerned because they have never managed to put together a server that wasn't shit. Why was Nost's announcement an endorsement of a project that has a proven track record of aids? Crestfallen is unproven, but that has got to be better than Valkyrie.

They'll only be providing the server-base, that'll host the "game". The rest comes directly from Nostalrius.

That is an issue with many players and we will need to figure out a way to sort it out in as painless manner as possible. As of now, Nostalrius characters will have priority for names over Elysium characters if there is a conflict. Possibly with some caveats, like a lvl 1 character from Nostalrius will not take the name of a lvl 60 from Elysium. It is one of the hurdles we must solve before launching.

I have another question.... Do we have to be on the Nostalrius realm list or the Elysium realm list?

Υa, we get it.

Crestfallen is the best thing that ever happened to humanity after penicillin.

Go post at Crestfallen and gtfo from our forums. Enough with this blatant advertising thing. Advertising other servers isn't allowed here.

P.S.: Every 6 months there is a "Best Server ever" in the WoW Private Server scene, all on paper. The last "best server ever" was "PLay TBC".

Next flop will be "Crestfallen", and next flop "Flopfallen". I don't give a f...

So many whiny people. Jesus. You pay nothing for the thousands of man hours that go into making and running a server, then you bitch like your opinion is the only one on the planet that matters. Buncha damn entitled children.

Elysium seems fine. Scripting isn't the greatest, especially mob pathing, but that's irrelevant if they're going to be using Nost script. They're porting the databases, so you can pick up where you left off. No, the population might not be quite as massive as Nost was, but you're a fool if you think that they're not going to get a significant percentage of the Nost population. Which is fine with me; I played on the PvE server because the PvP server was TOO full and it was impossible to get anything done. Course, that's a matter of opinion, but I'm sure there will be enough people to keep everyone happy. As other people have pointed out countless times, the caps on the actual retail vanilla servers were around 3k players, so this "I need 12k players for my authentic vanilla experience" bullshit needs to stop.

As for the people bitching about Nost not running it under the Nost name or calling Nost team cowards for bowing to legal pressure from Blizzard, STFU. You're not the one facing lawsuits. Until you put your job and your family on the line, you have ZERO room to talk. Scrub the sand out of your vaginas, wipe the tears from your eyes and act like you're grown. At a minimum, show a teensy bit of gratitude for the experience that the Nost team spent years of their lives working to give you. For free. Out of the kindness of their goddamn hearts.

I do agree that there is some question of whether or not the Elysium servers can handle the load and what the plan is to accommodate the massive influx of people. Especially in the first couple of days, where the reputation of the server is most at stake and the server load will be highest. But that's really a question to pose on the Elysium forums, not here.

What most people don't seem to understand is that a lot of the Nost Staff are going to be working on the "Elysium" project. So here's what we know..

1. Nostalrius Code will be moved to Elysium
2. Nostalrius Player database will be moved to Elysium, using a database from ~1 week before the shut down announcement.
3. A large portion of Nostalrius Staff are going to be working on the project, in all areas including Development, Administration, QA, etc. (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=44550&p=314428#p314411)

For people who cannot read between the lines, it sounds like Elysium will basically operate as Nost 2.0 in all aspects. This is no longer "some shit Russian server who couldn't release AQ40 in 6 years".

We also know that the following servers will be available:
1. The original Nost PVP Server
2. The original Nost PVE Server
3. A fresh Nost PVP Server

We know that Nost characters and accounts will (for the most part) take priority over Elysium account and character names. This is a technical hurdle that's being reviewed already.

If I had to speculate, I'd say that once the announcement is made with final details and dates, we can probably expect the Nost forums to be locked, and that the Elysium forums will be our new home. I'd also guess that a majority of the staff currently working on the Elyisum project will be moving into different roles to help support the new PVP server and to learn from how the Nost team operated.
