1) If we have an account on elysium that was the same as our old Nostalrius account will that prevent character transfer? And will the current realmlist be the current one on Elysium, Nostalrius old one, or a new entity all together?

No, that will not prevent character transfer. They have not set out a solution yet, but it is a problem that they are aware of and that they will find a work around for. What I'm guessing is that if there are two accounts with the same name - one Nost and one Elysium - one or the other will be flagged for a change when you first attempt to log in. Likely it will be the Elysium account, but that's just my own personal guess. It'll be easier to set it up to automatically flag the account from one database or the other and Nost was bigger than Elysium was.

2) Will there be a level 60 requirement on character transfer? I will be fine (just started raiding on the PvE before the announcement) but my friend had a 50something, would his account be valid?

No, there will not be a requirement. They are migrating the entire Nost PvP and PvE databases. Every character you've ever made will be available. They said that generally speaking, if two characters have the same name, the Nost character will take precedence. It was also said that there would be some judgment used with that; the example given was that a level 1 Nost char would not take precedence over a level 60 Elysium char.

If you're talking about the PvE server, it's irrelevant. Elysium is a PvP server, so Valkyrie is not currently hosting a PvE server. Thus, there are no existing PvE characters that could have your name. Works out well for me, as my Elysium toon is Frostina, which is not nearly as exciting as my mage Frostitute on the Nost PvE server.

3) My old Nostalirus account was on an old trash email I have forgotten about entirely (even the name), will we still need that specific email? Hopefully not, I'd be screwed....

This one I can't answer, as I'm not on the dev team for Nost nor Elysium. You'll have to wait for someone more familiar with the project than I am to answer this.

4) How will naming priority and renaming go about? I'm fine with changing my name as long as my character is still in tact.

See the answer to question #2. Naming priority will generally go to Nost characters.

Sorry for the inconvienece and thank you for your time and effort. And once again I apologize if I have asked anything that has already been answered, I just would rather not wade through the shitposts.

Can't blame you. I only made it through about 15 pages of whiny shitpost before I gave up and came to the last page.

I read through most of the posts, but not all of them. Just to be clear, as a new player can I start a character now on Elysium and then transfer it over when the new server is up?

I didn't really even hear about Nost until people started talking about the shutdown, and was sad I didn't know about it sooner to get in on the fun. I've been following it since, and if I don't need to wait to start working on leveling up, I'll just in and start scratching that itch now!

I started playing retail shortly after BC was released, so I missed Vanilla and have always wanted to experience it.

Just looking at that old school load screen and sign in and the old style character creation gave me goosebumps. :D

Elysium is up, but all the progress since the merger announcement will NOT be saved.
So the answer is "no" - no point starting right now really.

No. "The Elysium database is being frozen while work on the Nostalrius core progresses. As of the time of this announcement, all characters on Elysium have been saved and frozen to be loaded into the new core once it's complete. Elysium, as a server, will remain up for your enjoyment until the new server is complete, but any changes to your character after this announcement will not carry over."

Elysium character progress has been frozen. If you create a new character now on Elysium, it wouldn't carry over when they relaunch using Nost code.

I'm pretty sure you were allowed to multibox in that circumstance, or maybe it was assuming BOTH toons were in a major city as to like give yourself portals and water. Could be wrong as I never multiboxed so I didn't have to look into the rules.

Yes, you're misremembering - multiboxing was only allowed if BOTH characters were in a capital city

I do know we had a guy in my guild who would portal his druid around when he was leveling it with multiboxing and he never met any issues. About the only people I saw get busted for multiboxing were people who multiboxed Kazzak. Which given the history my guild had with Leythia/Nelythia/Naulii, multiboxing seems to be something he fixates on which is fine. So he might know more about the multiboxing rules.

Keeping it short and sweet. I like Elysium and Nost being "reborn". I do not like open sourcing and giving it to people who will profit from it and touch my character inappropriately.
