Man, this post got me right in the feels. The entire time I was reading through the post I was imagining what it was like re-experiencing Vanilla WoW when I discovered Nostalrius.

My heart still aches with nostalgia, and I cannot wait to get back into the game that gave me so many wonderful memories and experiences. I hope to see you all very soon!

4 Weeks MINIMUM.

The first line in that Reddit post is:

"Note: I am not a GM or Official of Elysium, I am simply a member of the community trying to help out."

To me that 4 week at least is pure speculation and it will be until we get more information on an ETA. Hold tight til' Sunday for more details and don't take unofficial information to heart.

Why are people worried about a community being divided? And for that matter blaming Nostalrius for the division. First off Nostalrius provided a solution to the already divided community (which divided itself, people went into Kronos, and other servers), they are putting their efforts in Elysium and that is where the database and Nost team will (presumably) be staying. This is the team and database which is quite clear to me that it's a new home for Nostalrius players combining with Elysium players, Nostalrius' approach with going to Elysium is a solution to unite the community and also for a new server, all of it is a valid, rational and good solution.

Assuming that people lose their level 60 characters there are people who will still play and not care because it was the ride and not the end, some may not and that's fine. There are also people who wanted to start a new character in the first place, and some who want a fresh server which is a combination of both and others. The community will utterly thrive there is no doubt.

As for Nostalrius being held responsible for the division, utter folly. The community chose to divide itself when it went to Kronos and other servers, yes people wanted to play I understand but this is still the communities choice, not Nostalrius'. Again it's the communities fault if they do not want to go into Elysium and give it a try, it's not Nostalrius' fault they just gave us a solution, we are the ones held accountable to our decision not them.

Does anyone remember that time when nost had a process that if you ever wanted your char/information to be transferred to a future server you would have to agree to it? Is that still in effect? Cause it sounds like nost is gonna transfer shit anyways

That is about right. This is from their discord from Elysium stuff: "Suzerain - Last Monday at 10:00 PM
Please do not ask for release dates. There is no ETA. More information on when and which server will come first will be available next weekend.(edited)"

Hey guys. Blizzard has gone down hill and I love the idea of legacy. I would love a server that had all the way up to the Lich King... and if possibly, make a Demon Hunter with talent trees and 3 different specs. I can help you with the different specs and talents for a demon hunter :D I just think DH's should have came out back in BC.

I'm looking forward to picking up where I left off on the PvE server. While I had leveled a mage to 60 on PvP, the server pop was growing and the nightmare that was trying to quest in StV or anywhere in Kalimdor was only going to get worse. Of course, PvE has disadvantages too; namely the inability to stop griefers from blowing up Kazzak. But that's fine. What I want out of the game is to experience what is, to my mind, the best content Blizzard ever made for the game (BC was good and Sunwell was my favorite instance ever, but I'd still put Vanilla on top). Which to me, means more than just 1-60 on a server with no economy. I'm a server first 80 shaman on retail, I don't need to race for 60 and I don't get any particular thrill out of the idea of being server first MC clear, because there's no real challenge to MC. I also don't get a chub from ga-- I mean, "world pvp".

But you know what? That's me. That's what I like. I also like vanilla better than chocolate and I love black olives and hate mushrooms. Maybe you hate black olives, love mushrooms, engage in sexual acts with people of the same gender and jump out of perfectly good airplanes for thrills. I think you're fucking weird, but who cares? Do what floats your boat, man. Just don't try and convince others that they need to enjoy the same things you do. You wanna pick up your toon on the PvP server and continue war effort? Go for it! Is it more important to you to play on a server with 10,000+ people? Well, good thing you've got a 60 on the transfer server, because either way, you can go with the bigger server. Want a fresh start? Nike the shit out of it and just do it. Rather play with 10,000 idiots trying to gank each other in Stranglethorn and the transfer server is the full one? Well, roll there and suck it up.

I mean, really guys, I know the thread has kind of played itself out, but do we really need 3 pages of argument as to who's going to roll on what server and what constitutes a "real" Nost player?

This kinda goes for the "don't give out the code" crowd too. I get that you're worried that you won't be able to masturbate with 500 other people in your zone at all times. So figure out where the highest pop is and go there. If Rebirth starts running Nost code, that's great for the 200 people that play there who don't want to play on an overcrowded server. What, because they want something different out of the game than you, they shouldn't be able to have a high quality experience? What are we, 3?

I wish more people here would be like you. Of course people should play where and how they want to play - that is in fact the pure essence and entire reason all of us are with Nostalrius and playing on vanilla servers. Retail made us play a way in which we do not like as much.

I myself will play on the original Nost PVP server since I haven't finished my journey there on my 40-50 ish Warrior. However, if I convince some Vanilla fans that haven't played on private to try out Nost then we all might just roll on the fresh server and experience that special event there too.

Play how you wanna play.
