A fresh server with no transfers is so much better.

It makes it much more fun for most people as it's a fresh start on a new server with a new economy.

Blizzard been forced to add Paladins to Horde in order to balance the current imbalance.

You can't even compare Totems to Blessing since some encounters need movement, so you will go out of totem range.

Horde have just Windfury totems, alliance all what Paladins can offer.

Maybe a system could be put in place where players could move over once the PvE server has been open for a set amount of time. This way, any new characters created on the server would have a bit of extra time to level up and make some progress?

This seems like a really good idea.

Yes and it's better like that for so many reasons... Eco, gear diff/patch diff etc...
I was on the test and I will reroll on the PVE server and keep playing my toons on the PVP too.
I got pissed off recently of ganking on STV and burning out of leveling my second toon but on a PVE server all will be faster.

I don't understand world PVPers. You get virtually no honor compared to battlegrounds and you are behaving like a total $*#(.

Different strokes I suppose, lol.

Once the PvE server launches I'll roll a char of the same class and race on the PvE server. If the community seems to be large enough once I'm on 60 I'll probably focus on the new char even if my old one is fully geared.

Why? Because I like to run instances and I absolutely hate to wait around because players, myself, but mainly others (since I'm rarely the last person to get to the instance) get delayed due to PvP.

a) Get killed once or even a few times (BRM, Ho!) on the way to the instance.
b) Cannot get summoned because the opposing faction is ganking outside the entrance and are outnumbering us.
c) Are delayed because they themselves follow the Red=Dead doctrine and have stopped to PvP.

Choosing to avoid that crap might make me a carebear in some peoples eyes, thats ok. In my opinion anyone with that opinion has the mindset of a pre-teen lowbie-ganker anyway so who cares. Anyone who is of a similar opinion should come with us to the PvE server. There is a reason that most of the vanilla top guilds played on PvE servers. You get more shit done!

I will roll a character on a PVE server in a heart beat and would love it. I also have two friends that will. One quit after a week of getting ganked non-stop while trying to quest and another wouldnt even join because it was a pvp server after the exp he had on another vanilla server. So that's 3 more (at least, possibly 2 more if i can coax other friends) for the pve community.

I love all these pvp'ers complaining that people going to a pve server is bad for the community LOL.. ya nice community of brats intentionally going out of their way beating on low level characters making the experience awful for people (who might have just joined wow for the first time) who want to quest and level their skills and crafting. Hell... last night I was playing and there were mobs of horde players making the game miserable for low level players the entire night... non stop. The entire map was talking about it... avoid this area... there are dozens of horde ganking non stop.. etc. And this was after all the complaining that a split is bad. Clearly the pvp mind set needs to look in the mirror and stop crying foul when people are fed up with your baby like antics.

A pve only server cant come fast enough if you ask me. I'm going to assume the more mature, easy going player... the one in it for the experience of the adventure will be more likely to be drawn to the pve server. I cant wait to play along side like minded people.

The main reason I enjoy a PvE server is so I can quest in peace without wondering if the quest I have can be handed in without the NPC getting attacked. If I fancy a bit of PvP then I jump into a BG.
