very true, i see it happening as well. even with all the stress testing we were doing! lets hope they plan for 1000 people and the server be ok with just 500 haha! its ok to over compensate for release! hopefully it wont dc like mad but those starting zones are going to be fn flooded! 2/28 HYPE but not too much now!!

(also whoever thought the server was releasing today... seriously? think about it..)

I am more worried about hack attacks/DDOS. According to Viper, during last open PvE session, Nostalrius was "...constantly attacked by multiples hackers, and they managed to crash the server a few times." - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=727 (roll to the bottom of page).

If you participated in these sessions, you probably experienced something like 30+ min of being unable to log in (or logging in and then being logged out in matter of seconds) - now you know what happened.

Unfortunately, many people would be happy to rain on our parade on 28/2

For sure the server will crash sometimes, because it's almost impossible to make a perfect start. Look at all the haters who wants to ddos and so on. Even if there are no hackers the server will crash because of the massive population. Look at projects like wow itself, h1z1 everything... all projects have problems at the beginning. You just need a team that handles the stress.

I bet the nostalrius staff will be online as long as they can during the first couple days, maybe they also spend some holidays.

Will there be connection issues and crashes at start? For sure, not even Blizzard managed to pull off a perfect release back in 2004, and yes there will be some haters from other server who will ddos Nos, but we will just keep doing our thing and all things will pass while Nostalrius will go on to probably be the best Classic realm.
