Have read a few times the implied meaning that the legendary 2hander should not be given to warriors. Wondering why. The 3.7 speed and the stats don't seem really bad for them in the least.
Interesting in understanding this. Thanks in advance.

That's why is better for others than warriors.
slower = stronger

That's the same rationale that I hear being used by arms warriors. Higher weapon dmg with slow speed > Low weapon dmg with fast speed. Point of it being that moves such as slam, whirlwind, and so on are based over weapon dmg.
Why is it better for other classes then?
In other words, why is Ash'kandi a warrior item, but Sulfuras is not?

As for the slower weapons point, it is worth noting that we're on 1.12 mechanics here so attack power has been normalized for attacks such as Mortal Strike. If a Paladin is reckbomb specced, he wants a slower weapon because it is not normalized. If a Shaman has Stormstrike, he wants a slower weapon because Stormstrike is also not normalized. For a Warrior, due to normalization, he's more likely to want a high DPS number than a slow weapon.
It's also true that Mace Specialization doesn't really do enough for Warriors. If you stun an enemy for 3 seconds (the first time, remember that these stuns have diminishing returns), that's not even enough time to get an extra attack in. If you were a spellcaster, that stun would be a great opportunity to unload something nasty. But you're a Warrior, and when you stun, you just get to wait until you hit him again. At best you can unload an engineering item on him like dropping The Big One (3 second cast time into 5 second stun) then using those 5 seconds to cast a Gnomish Death Ray into your enemy's face or bandage yourself for 1250. That would be a decent combo for PvP (except keeping a Death Ray ready in your trinket slot just for a 6% stun proc is a tad ridiculous; maybe if you also wanted to use it with Intimidating Shout at the expense of not having that time to bandage). Most of the time though, especially in PvE, you'd rather have a crit or extra hit.
