Laptops suitable for WoW?

by jakey101 » Tue Sep 22, 2015 4:19 pm

Greetings ;)

It's as simple as this, my laptop is beyond buggered and I'm fairly certain it's also been affecting my latency with wireless wifi (Up to 1000+ ms whenever wireless) and I can barely load videos.

My budget is at £500, potentially +£50 as I'm a student and genuinely can't afford to empty my whole worth :L

Any suggestions would be great. Also has anyone ever had problems with latency while using wireless wifi with Virginmedia?

Many thanks!

Any laptop manufactured after 2006 should be able to run (vanilla) wow without any issues. If you're in the market just try to find a good sale.

You might just need a fresh install of windows on that laptop, it's probably super bloated

anything you buy now a days should be able to run wow easily, I heard there are some really good deal on laptops for like 300$ USD around but I'm not sure where, you could even save 100 euro if you only want to play wow with said laptop

See my post in another thread for the minimum requirements needed to run vanilla WoW:
https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic. ... 70#p148318

Just about every laptop manufactured these days runs circles around those requirements. Anything made within the last couple of years that's now listed as bargain bin sales should be able to play WoW flawlessly. I don't know what £500 can get you, but if Google currency is accurate, that's almost $770 US dollars which would be way overkill if you're simply looking for a cheap modern laptop that plays WoW. You could buy something at over half of that and still get good performance in WoW, unless if you're thinking of installing some more graphically-intensive games that are more demanding of the hardware.
