185.60.115.21:80 is not the authserver but also the blizzard webserver to provide the message of the day (you can see the message of the day at the left side of your login screen)

The wow client has the possibility to display a breaking news at the login screen. This breaking news server is provided by blizzard and not changeable without client modding.

So if you want to connect to a private server, the wow game client tries to get the current breaking news from blizzard's webserver.

This is the reason because you've got displayed the blizzard server.

You can try this with every client version/realmlist and you will see the blizzard ip every time.

Vanilla.re's authserver is on 149.202.143.230:3724 (standard logon port). World server is on 149.202.143.230:8085 (also standard port for mangos)

Thanks for your answer.

It's the same bullshit with others wow servers I tested (retro-wow, kronos, etc..), the WoW client tries to connect to a blizzard server (for the news of the day). And I was horrified to discover that!

Firewall rules updated!
