Yes, because challenging raids, TONS of QoL improvements, a stat specifically designed to give PvPers an advantage over PvErs in PvP instead of the assbackwards other way around(gasp) and arenas are all overrated.

Both Vanilla and TBC have their benefits. For me, I enjoyed my vanilla experience more. Arena was so much fun though.

TBC is amazing, i love SSC and TK
Hunter was so strong

But Vanilla is great too, really hard, everything you have is a hard work.

So both of them are very nice and for better than wotlk, mop, wod..
