Hey guys, usually I make videos on Nost, but I thought I'd make a video on my thoughts on IMO a new controversial business strategy by Activision.

Have you seen the initial class reviews for Legion?

Feels much like shark jumping to me.

Disco being a hybrid heal/dps spec, Survival hunters being a melee class, o dears.

Yeah I read the hunter and priest one. I feel like they are trying to make a come back to class identity but I think it might be too late for some people like me. There's no way in hell I am buying Legion after WOD.

Lavish supply for ever increasing demand made a spoiled gamer base. No new gimmick can erase the fact that what used to be a world where every square inch was dangerous requiring co-op and thrift, Activision's Azeroth is now just a highway through an abandoned ghetto full of morlocks and eloi. Vanilla on the other hand brings back that expansive world where scale matters because every pull circle is a real threat and the economy is realistic again making survival actually enjoyable. Such a richer experience. Gear and damage scaling over the years somehow made progress feel like a joke. It's too bad 5000 employees need to justify thier jobs when the gamer base prefers returning to square one. A week on Vanilla > 7 years with Activision (my /played).

I'm sure Legion will be good, but it won't be great. Vanilla is great. I agree with you that it is better if the main zones are all released with the expansion, but I'm not exactly sure what they have in store. This is what I would say to Blizzard (excuse the language):

Blizzard, pick a great band/artist, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Wu Tang, or whatever. Suppose it is Radiohead, they just released a new album, they're going on tour, and you go to the concert. Radiohead refuses to play any old songs because they "lost the instruments" or "lost the mixes," and they will only play songs from their newest album because they want to "move on."

That is total fucking bullshit. Of course they have tapes or hard drives with the original tracks, even fans have it. Since Radiohead refuses to remaster their old albums because of their assertions, fans find the tracks and remaster it, and do an amazing job (Nostralius), and many other fans listen to it. Radiohead wants the tracks taken down because the past is the past, and they want their new work to take the spotlight.

Blizzard, you dumb, dumb mother fuckers. Of course the new work is good, but the old work is legendary. Why is that so hard to accept that you did a really good job on a game? Even the fucking Backstreet Boys or Justin Bieber go on tour playing their old songs. Even Nintendo, Square, Sega release their old games on iOS/Android. Are you going to honestly say that a game full of Pandas and Worgens is closer to your original intention? Like when George Lucas rereleased the old Star Wars films with random CG thrown in? Come back to reality. Life is short. Your job is to make stupid games. 50 years ago that would have been checkers, poker, or basketball.

If the inventor of basketball created a new game and insisted it replace basketball, no one would give a fuck, they would laugh in his face. You're not special. See yourself for what you really are and release vanilla servers, you sorry pricks.

WoW is shit now, m8.

It was good in vanilla because of the community being localized
It was good in TBC because it was hard as fuck and the challenges were accessible to nerds
It was good in wrath because it was the last bit of lore anyone ever gave a shit about being raped repeatedly and it was also kinda fun (outside of trial)

Sums my feelings up pretty well. I had some kind of vague misgiving during Wrath retail, like "so now that we've killed the biggest and baddest of the big bads, where are they gonna go from here?" and then we got pandas and EVERYONE IS CORRUPTION and garrisons.

I hope someone ganks Kotick IRL.

I continue to hold out hope for Warcraft 4 being an RTS again and ignoring all the retcons and bullshit introduced just to preserve the setting of WoW and bringing the story to a satisfactory conclusion.

Haven't put a dime into retail since I quit Cata, nor will I ever again until they release legacy servers. If they announced legacy servers with an updated client and graphics I would be all over paying them money again to play. They'd no doubt get millions of reactivated accounts or new account purchases along with the subs, a fucking untapped gold mine simply by recycling an older game. But they won't do that, so I am here instead. They can keep their dank card game, League clone, and TF2 clone. Hope you enjoyed D3 and SC2 1-3, because that's probably the last enjoyable games they'll ever make. They are now focused entirely on the F2P/MOBA cash shopping market. Why? It's a low effort vs high profit ratio. Once WoW begins to dry up, it'll go F2P as well, no doubt slice and diced for the cash shop.

IMO there are a lot of "problems" holding me back to nerd WoW retail again.

Yes I bought ALL addons so far and I played them.

Here my summary:

Vanilla:
Oh lol, what's this game in the beginning? No clue at all!
End up nerding it every day for about 7 hours.
Played a lot. Was in a good raid, did a lot of pvp (rank 10 and 11 with 2 characters)
We knew each other on the server! The premade BG groups (ally and horde) knew each others TS, chilled together, fought against each other, had a lot of fun raiding each other Cities.
Farmed rep to be able to ride other races mounts and some other shit.

TBC:
Was really hard and much stuff to grind. Like farming revered to be able to enter HC-dungeons.
Loot was nice, professions were nice too (like Weaponsmith for Warriors!)
Raids were realllllllly coooool!
Played a lot or arena though and got 310% gladiator mouns, which I couldn't use because NO MONEY :D
Then did a lot of farming to be able to fly with my babies.
Really cool addon and played it a lot.
Vanilla was cooler tho! --> Again: >>We knew each other on the server! The premade BG groups (ally and horde) knew each others TS, chilled together, fought against each other, had a lot of fun raiding each other Cities.<<

Wotlk:
Was cool at the beginning. HEROIC class DK!
Leveld it instantly, another gladiator title, very good progress raid (top 100 world), played a lot (5 raids + 2 gladiators --> A lot of fkn time)
Got anything, game became easier! Much easier!
Then the first hard modes came in Ulduar after clearing the "normal-25" mode in the first days!
Then the game began to suck for me personally.
Same shit, different package of the product (normal vs hardmode) was not enough for me.
First big break --> came back to Trials --> Dissapointed but farmed it because of ICC.
ICC! Cool raid! Very very nice :-) --> Again same shit in another packge because of 25man, 10man, normal, hard..

Cata:
Played 1 month arena, again good rating --> raids sucked for me.
Quit WoW til DS-Raid --> Raided, cleared it, did a few heroic bosses (6-7 as I remember). Quit again til MoP.
Shit-Addon.

MoP:
Played 1 month arena and RBG, again good ratings --> raids sucked for me.
Quit WoW til ToT-Raid --> Came back because of friends, raided then ToT and then SoO heroic.
Cleared it, quit WoW --> Came back before WoD and cleared it again on the new myth difficulty.
Shit at the beginning, was nice because of old Vanilla-Friends.

WoD:
Just played PvE here. PvP = Every class was about the same, just different colored gear Oo
Everyone could stun, fear, dispell, purge, break cc, and so on. It was just, who nukes better, who got the better lineup. Fk that.
PvE in the beginning very nice. Garrisson sucked so hard that nothing happend ingame except the raids (top1000 raid world, casual cause of work and wife, no student anymore :P --> Only 2 raids / week)
So i basically played ~8 hours a week --> 2 Raids a 3 hours and 2 hours a week for garrisson and stuff.
Quit again with WoW because it sucks!
Tried raiding again in the summer because of my friends, cleared the new raid on HC (myth 5-6 bosses) and stopepd playing again, because I dont see the point here?

Just raid 2 times / week, and do nothing else because of the fkn garrisson.

Dont get me wrong, I didn't have even to pay for WoW anymore because of this new token (about 50k gold for one month of play) because I made about 100k gold a month WITHOUT playing due garrisson! (In the beginning I played a lot, had 4 lvl100 chars and "finished" garrissons on each of em)

Then I tried some BGs/Arena. Both sucked really hard IMO. Ashran-PvP was shit at its finest lol.

Quit again, never wanted to play WoW again.

Friend of mine (from Vanilla back then) contacted me, told me about Nost --> Started playing here.
Im "addicted" to WoW again because of the Vanilla flair :D
Doing BGs, laughing because of them, dungeons are wipe-feasts with bad gear and even bad people. Really funny IMO ^^

And I know for sure, IF I start with Legion it will end up pretty the same like WoD:
In the beginning its nice because its new --> Your farm gear, you level up your profs and so on.
Then you begin with the raid, clear it on normal/hc and then it begins to suck.

So I won't play it (cant say for sure, because If all of my friends begin, I would have at least to try it ^^)

So true. Sad, but true. All hopes for Warcraft 4 can be buried right beneath a Diablo 4 or a Starcraft 3 or even a World of Starcraft. Blizzard chose to take the easy way and will lose more and more of their good reputation they achieved between ~1992 and 2006.

By seeing your history: You'll definitely play Legion and choose the new demon hunter and go for the raids there until there's no new content.
