would you go to a nost-like server with the nos data?

by mssjtxwd » Thu Apr 14, 2016 10:04 am

As the news, it seems that there will be many nost-like servers with the nost core and character data next month. But many people in that thread say they will go to Kronos. So would you stay here and wait for the opening of those servers then choose the best? Or just leave here and choose the Kronos?

The problem is everything is very very uncertain and noone knows anything about when and what will happen. At this point I wouldn't even be surprised if Blizzard would give a certification to Nost to legally operate. It's highly unlikely, just saying how uncertain things are.

Nost might endorse only 1 worthy server to continue the next week but maybe only after 2 months. Or maybe they will not endorse anyone. Or maybe they release the source code and the community will be split among multpile servers which would be really bad tbh.

I would choose a nost like server with my chars over Kronos. If that doesn't happen, a fresh server. Kronos server is not bad but don't like how it doesn't follow the blizzlike progression the way nost did :?
They have a lot of gear out/with buffed stats before it's supposed to. I know some might think that is minor but I really dislike that

I would absolutely prefer to go on a Nost-like (meaning as blizz-like as possible and without donation perks, voting, cash shop, variable exp rates) with my Nostalrius characters.

I don't see that happening though so I'm looking at other options (probably a fresh one, if I can find one that's not too obnoxious and offers PvE)
Unfortunately my original forum account was locked out.

IMO nostalrius would revive for sure. And I will wait until the release of the core and personal data then choose the best server after the battlement of servers in May. Don't be so pessimistic guys!

I'd never go to Kronos. Seems like an awful community.

Guyz I advise all of the Nost community to check out vanilla.re
They will be using the nost database and character data to revive the server and you can login to your nost character when Nost release them. In the meantime, they are working on a fresh temporary server that we can play on while Nost release the code. And maybe, maybe, they can merge the two servers.
their current name is Nostalrius reborn

I will go to any VANILLA private server that will have:

1/2 XP gain from non elite mobs or quests, so grouping content will be encouraged even more.
1/2 loot drop chances on all gear but double chances on rare crafting materials; so crafting will matter more.
riding skill available only at level 60, so the world will matter.

and maybe open world death XP penalty, just for the edge :) ( no death penalty in instances or PVP)

I have another awesome idea
that the XP can be gain only when you have "rested bonus" and when you out of the"rested bonus" you don't get any XP. but not sure the community is ready for such awesome server.

that must be it, if you disagree with me then i must be stupid.

what made vanilla superior to all other wow expansions?
- that you still had defined roles for group content that built the community, not only instances but open world elite areas, you weren't handled welfare epics and you had to make an effort for your gear.

what made Nost superior to other private servers?
- no double XP gains, no auto level 60, no levels for cash and no double skill points on crafting silliness.
- basically no easy mode wow.

what i say is that until a certain point, the "harder" - the better.
there is a certain point when "harder" make people frustrated and leave, but the amount of "harder" I suggest is just enough to make the experience memorable but not enough to make it impossible.

p.s. the "rested bonus" comment is to avoid the situation where 14 y/o school dropouts reach 60 in a week and whine that there is nothing else to do.
