Vanilla vs TBC.

Discuss anything here. But do not forget that our rules still apply !

I love the content of both pre-BC and TBC (I am one of those that will always consider Vanilla Pre-BC like we did before everyone started calling it Vanilla). Nothing was removed, so in TBC if you missed Naxx, you could bring your 25 man raiding team to it and still see old content.

The lore of both were pretty amazing.

The events in "vanilla" were better than TBC (AQ server progress > Shattered Sun... Select person/few got Scarab Lord and anyone with 1kg got the Shattered Sun title).

PvP Honor system was better in "vanilla" IMO. TBC, you could just farm honor in BGs and use said honor to buy gear. In "vanilla," you needed to be in a cert top % for certain gear. That made it more rewarding.

Title system in BC was a little better. Hand of Adal, Champion of the Naruu when you get attuned to show it off and if you wanted you could switch to your "vanilla" PvP ranked title at will.

Tier tokens > tier drops.

In all, both have their pluses, but both are still enjoyable and I plan to play this server to experience all the content again, the send my priest to the TBC server to experience that as well.

I'd say TBC purely because of the paladin/shaman faction swaps, as well as the greater variety in viable specs.

I can actually play Ret at endgame!

Easy "TBC!"-Call for me.

As someone who played Enhancement Shaman and Balance Druid since i started playing WoW, TBC was a great time.

Finally both specs were worth it in Raids and also quite nice in PvP.

Regarding Raids, TBC made a good split between 10man and 25man raids and some open world bosses.
That made raiding for smaller groups possible but didnt cut the "big group raiding experience" for people who liked that to hard.

I also think that TBC was the only expansion that had some good open world pvp, since people were only split on Azeroth and Outland - the arena made a nice addition for hardcore pvpers, too.

As much as id like to experience things like AQ-Opening and Raiding, ZG (missed them cause i was low level back in the days) and the Scourge-Event once more, im not sure if i can find enjoyment in playing two "useless classes" for like one more year or more, until the TBC Server opens.

Flying mounts were the only thing that I hated about TBC (because they killed world pvp to some degree). Other than that TBC was probably better than vanilla.

Vanilla. Because of flying mounts, and TBC exploded Warcraft's lore even more than Classic did. What was so hard to understand with "Draenor, the Red World" ?

everything.

the only achivement that WoW should have is your gear.

totally disagree, as someone who had all the items from the fishing tournaments, most rare non-combat pets in TBC, and full exalted with all Horde factions and most Outland factions on my retail character, I wish I had stayed for achievements to watch my shit light up. Achievements are just sort of fun and goofy, and I thought WoW implemented them well for the completionists.

This, achievements are not a bad thing, what was bad about them were the ones that you would get by just playing the game and not actually having to go out of your way to achieve them.

Glory of the Ulduar Raider is an example of a good set of achievements, as you actually had to do something difficult and out of the norm to get them.

This is an example of an achievement which gives the system a bad name.

" LF Mage must have zzzzz and zzzz and zzzz achievments"

"LF 3's Partners, must have arena master achievement"

shit like that...
