But I do need to say that there's absolutely nothing wrong with never playing Vanilla and wanting to see what all the fuss is about. There's plenty of new players and nice people all around. From someone who has 0 to prove or achieve pve and pvp wise in the original Vanilla, what brought me back is the social aspect. Cross realm stuff killed any sort of people knowing "who's who" on their server. To the new people, take your time, level, and enjoy the ride. Enjoy the people you meet along the way. Enjoy the experience of raiding with 40 people and when you get that precious blue item you've been wanting for a long time. Enjoy that you actually get to use your cc spells in dungeons.

Unfortunately, there are just way too many people who walk around beating their chests being elitist at a dead game they were probably terrible at 10 years ago, but need some sort of validation by being world beaters at it now.

My guess is more than half this server never played til mid BC or later. Not because they're "noob" or "posers" but because there's a large population that simply wasn't old enough in 2004/2005. Like think about how much teenagers and young 20 somethings playing today, 11 years ago they were in elementary school, some just getting out of kindergarten even. If I was a parent of a 7 year old I would not have them sitting at a computer all day and using my credit card to play a game when they could be outside getting exercise and socializing. Look at how much fat diabetic children there are and how many kids with severe health problems that pretty much have to live in a bubble cause they never see daylight.

i started in April 2006 took me like 3-4 months to get lvl 60. hardly Progressed out of UBRS before the BC prepatch and i farmed the rank 12/13 in january 2007

I started playing at the end of classic wow, few months before the release of TBC but bought my first mount (the slower one) at level 66 or so. I just couldn't get enough gold.
