Kronos had to shutdown their open beta after few hours.

Discuss anything here. But do not forget that our rules still apply !

Hope people realize it's very likely Nostalrius will have similar problems with DDOSing. Don't go into tomorrow expecting a perfect start, or even getting in any serious gaming.

A server that has conducted stress tests with real players shouldn't have this issue.

It shouldn't, but it can still happen.

Kronos made one big mistake: they should have warned people beforehand that no stress test has been done yet, and that they should expect this kind of thing happening. But everyone constantly crying on multiple forums after a bit of a setback is just too much.

On the other hand there is a kind of advantage to this: whenever anything bad happens on a private server, crybabies instantly leave it and search for another thing.

Anyone leaving Kronos after all the hype and support because of this and coming to Nostalrius tomorrow doesn't deserve to get a clean gaming experience. I sort of hope there will be small issues with Nost launching so such people will clear the hell out.

I am no saint myself, I will gladly admit that I only recently actively joined both communities and the only reason Nost won out for me was that it launches sooner (and well, the whole item progression thing is a really big bonus as well). But I sure as hell won't leave if the server will be unstable for a few days, or even a week or a bit more.

This was their one chance to get people to play Kronos instead of Nostalrius. They were taking a big chance. They failed and now most of their players will come here for tomorrow...and hopefully stay.

I'm not sure what poeple were expecting from kronos....they already have a parent server community that run BC/wrath/cata servers. You look at those forums and they are not very busy at all. This by far is gonna be the place to play for awhile.....guess we'll find out. 8}

Kronos crashed
Vengeance abandoned and charcters tranferred to BC server
the other servers for vanilla are old communities and have 12x 15x xp rates.

so all the chips fall to Nos being the goto server....
Been playing on vanilla gamers server with 15xrate leveling...kinda cool. They have a good AH economy but there dungeon scripting has loads of bugs. They been active for many years and have naxx 40 open so i guess they are not fixing thier bugs anymore. lol

I should rephrase what I wrote. I have no problem with Kronos players changing their mind and coming here, but I would prefer if the crybabies didn't come with them. People who instantly posted on every possible site how awful it was and how they are so unlucky for not receiving 100% top quality for zero money in the first minute.

Yeah, Kronos' devs failed in this regard, they should have conducted stress tests already or at least warned players that this is going to start with a stresstest instead of letting them planning raids and what-not for today. But they still worked a lot on the project and do no deserve to bashed (not criticized, bashed) upon by a bunch of crybabies who split the second they see some disadvantages in a situation.

So, I tried one of those notorious Multi-Hacks from the web and you could do ANYTHING: Teleport, Swim through the air, speed, infinite jumps, etc. These are very big flaws that weren't working at Nost Hacksession. I hope they fix those things soon, as they are quite old issues.

Even as a Nostalrius fanboy, I think there is nothing to be pleased about.
Many people react as if vanilla servers had to fight each other to attract as many as possible vanilla players among some kind of limited "pool".
There is not a "pool" of a few thousand vanilla wow players.
There are millions of people that could potentially have fun playing vanilla WoW. The part of them that actually play vanilla depends on the number of good quality servers.
If Kronos loose 1000 subscribers, Nostalrius could win some of them, but not 1000 of them. A lot of people will just be pissed off by vanilla wow, and by private servers, and will return to completely different games.
If Kronos actually fails, that's just a waste for vanilla wow community.
