Alot will come over to SR when they see that the PvE server will be as toxic as the PvP, plus the que will make some change too.
Sure Nost will win in numbers that do even SR know but rather take a smaller number 500-1k then 2500 and 1k toxic ppl. I can understand that ppl dont wanna lvl up on SR until they have tested Nost first but from what i have seen sure there are some bugs but they get fixed faster and the community is helping ppl not just yelling and telling ppl to bugger off.
I will still be playing on SR for atleast 2 more weeks, i wanna see how the forum reacts later on when Nost open their server.

Agree with Qubism here. The SP community, so far, is amazing. Yes, low pop (bit unrewarding for the devs) but the toxic fucks (none encountered so far) will get shunned Amish-style or better yet banned by the GMs. They are very active and they communicate wel (hint for Nost!). Compare that to Nost where half of the pop is toxic or a griefer, it's really refreshing. I suppose the Nost PvE server will have a lesser toxic community.

I will keep on trying it out. This weekend we will see how high the pop will go. And then the Nost PvE server release is also a crucial point. We will know more in a few weeks I guess.

Thanks for the feedback, i'm glad that you found it interesting, especially if you can't be bothered deleting folders, changing realm list and leveling on the other server yourself.

You always come with the same thing. Sure may SR community is amazing. But is very obvious than in a server with high population (or any game) there will always be toxic people. There are really good people in Nostalrius too, more than bad. But yes, in a community of 8k players (or more) what do you expect...

The people leading the Stormrage Project seem to be helpful and quick to fix problems. The community also seems friendly, which is nice to see. It would be sad to see their effort go to waste if indeed not enough players join, as too few can make finding groups and defeating hard enemies difficult. I hope more people decide to join them, as they deserve a chance. I have been checking their website lately, out of curiosity. I have been seeing a lot of hostility towards Nostalrius, mainly for the reason of our community being made up of "toxic" players. It is true that with a higher population, there will be a greater chance to attract people with that kind of behavior. They are a part of every game, private server or otherwise. I have even encountered a few myself. However, not everybody is like that here. I've also met many kind players, willing to help and have a good time. More than I have toxic players, in fact. Often we are not noticed, but we are here, and just like any other person playing on a private server, we are here to have fun, and to enjoy the game we love. I just wanted to clarify this, as many people who have joined Stormrage seem to look upon us as an enemy, to be avoided at all costs. There is a thread somebody made in our PvE forum entitled "Let's try to make this server less toxic". This was referring to the new PvE server releasing soon, and although we may not be entirely successful, I believe it will be better. Certainly this says something about us? Please remember, the toxic players do not speak for the majority.

Most people who joined SP said Nost PvP realm is largely toxic + being unable to level due to corpsecamping. They are not hostile towards Nost, but they gave these answers to the question "How did you find us and why did you pick SP?". Ironically, most found SP because of the huge Nost PvE thread, which they also answered there.

Massive shame, I was really shocked at the low population and feel so sorry for the devs who are really nice and communicative and really good at fixing quickly.

A few things I've noticed in the way the vanilla private server community has changed over the years; people no longer just care about a 'fresh server', they want it smooth and relatively bug free and most of all populated too. People are becoming more fussy about the end product, whereas before we'd shrug and say 'private server'.

And I think both Nos and the rival pvp server both involved the community to some extent before release, whether it's research or bug hunting or promotion. Plus there were a lot of guilds waiting for something between Feenix and CC and came here. Guilds in whatever form are always the backbone of the community, (piss off enough of your guilds and you end up like ED)

As I say, just a shame about SP, diversity is never a bad thing but it missed on some crucial components.
