Well yes, but that doesn't mean that it applies to everyone on that server. I think it's pretty fair to assume that many people just wanted to start from scratch with nobody being many months ahead of them...

if they can match it like Nost did (PTR realm for content testing), an adequate GM/development team, server stability, a bug tracker and hosted in a safe location. more people would be apt to trying this out and continuing the legacy of Nostalrius.

I'd give it more time for more "promising" options to come out, but I will definitely sticky this for reference when/if this turns to be very promising.

Im sorry to say this but dont listen to this guy he is spamming the forums and the subredits with this Vanilla RE bullshit. These recent unfortunate news that hit Nostalrius only spawned a hundred people claiming that they will host a new Nostalrius, dont listen to that unless it comes directly from the Nostalrius staff and that they have authorised it.
These guys from Vanilla RE cant even speak english properly.

Besides all that, I believe there may yet be hope

Mate there's no indication that that Nost staff is planning to revive this, that's why other people are trying to step up, it may scatter the community but it's not like the guy behind this thing is a villain
