nost pve already had better quality BGs, premades fought each other, there was no win trading or afkers in pugs and each side had equally good players.

population is the not problem for pve shards, since nost pve had a healthy blizzlike pop. no other server really did. every dev wants to be the next big stock mangos pvp shard with 8k+ players but that will never happen again, atleast not for [insert your favorite stock mangos pvp shard that has premades actively dodge each other].

zones weren't designed for those numbers in mind too. everyone can play on their shitty overpopulated lagfest shards for all I care. inb4 you're just a pve carebear argument, I had a r9 ele/resto shaman in dungeon blues that spanked wrath 1vs1 on nost pvp but decided to jump over to pve shard and start all over again.

even with hopeful expectations this server won't go anywhere because everyone is comfy on their EZ raid casual shards with p2w shop.

What?

I don't get you at all.

If this is directed at Crestfall then you do realise that the core/emulator is not MaNGOS?

You do realise that they are using clustering to get over any lag issues, something Nost wanted to implement but never got close to?

You understand that there are two starting realms, PvP and PvE?

You comprehend that the max pop is capped at 5500 per realm?

So the realms can take 11,000 players online at any one time?

That there is and never will be a P2W shop? The only things you can buy, if it actually takes place, are pre 1.4 mounts, special pets and realm transfers? That the decision to have a trinket shop is only if private donations don't raise enough money to keep the servers running?

Nice! A somewhat healthy balance between the factions is always good. Hopefully it will not be bigger than 60-40 ratio. I have always played horde on retail and even on previous pvt servers, so im planning on finally go full out alliance this time. But again it depends on the balance. I always prefer to play the underdog for some reason. ^^

Regarding gangstabitch I have no idea what he's on about. Doesnt seem like he's talking about Crestfall at all. The PVE population cap will be lower than the PVP server though I think, like 3k there and 6-7k at PvP.

As you were and thanks for the correction (amends post-it notes)

While I'm trying to temper my hype level for Crestfall, I must admit it's difficult. My interactions with the CF devs have left me believing these people are extremely passionate about creating the most blizz-like Vanilla server they possibly can, down to the smallest details.

Except. It'll be just like the Feenix servers, Kronos, etc? To a degree at least with exceptions to correct environment and technical balancing?

Making a server with progressive content without progressive itemization doesn't make much sense to me, but maybe that's just me. Why not just start with MC, BWL, AQ, and ZG on release? That'd make more sense, no? Instead of wasting months of everyone's time with nearly useless raids that offer minor character upgrades.

It's one thing when there are technical limitations barring you from doing it opposed to actually putting in the time and effort to change what you can.

"Why not just start with MC, BWL, AQ, and ZG on release?"
What? Which vanilla server has ever done this? The uniqueness of Crestfalls Progressive content is not that they are going to release vanilla content progressively, which everyone does, Kronos, Nost, Elysium, Rebirth, you name it, but that they are eventually going to continue on to TBC and Wrath down the line. This is what sets them apart. Nost was also going to make a TBC server but of course it never came to that. Now Crestfall will be offering this and people are hyped for it.

The itemization is somewhat progressive, alot more than what they were planning it to be at first. The only other server that has done complete progressive itemization AND content was Nost. But Kronos and the rest are using 1.12.1 itemization, so no progressive itemization, combined with content progression.
At least Crestfall are doing at least 1 big itemization update, which will come around the time of the War effort. Then a bunch of 1.9 items will be added, dungeon loot and updated stats on alot of items (but not all of them, like tier sets).

I think people have gotten so into how Nost did things that they forget that no one else ever did it that way before Nost with the itemization. And even on Nost it had some hiccups. Crestfall does part of this, and will have tuned raids to make it more challanging (but not feenix-style tuning with 30% more HP, which is really bad tuning).
