I prefer Vanilla over TBC.

TBC pros
- Karazhan is one of the best instance
- Talent tree more balance

-TBC cons
-Stupid resilience , I m sorry but raiding to get gera to do bg was amazing before
-World is smaller. Oh yeah they add 8 new region ... everyone is in the same town , flying all around , The world feel way smaller.
-Gears , That was the start where the gear curve start to make a huge difference. Epic from heroic meant almost nothing. You always had to update yourself with the new raid , new arena season ..... that was farming for gear all the time , non stop ....

At least in Vanilla , I know some epic are better than other , but the curve was more forgiving. Even if you are lv 58 , geared decently , you could still down a lv 60 in epic. And even some rare item is better than epic

I just think TBC was inferior to Vanila because of the gear. I will stick to vanila even if they release TBC

I like how more talents and specs were improved on, and arena is awesome in TBC. However, I dislike resilience a lot. Overall I think I prefer Vanilla.

World pvper here.

Raiding capital cities and towns and world PvP in general in vanilla is unique, no flying mounts, some areas have tactical use and can be taken over for ganking, ranks are awesome but also a con since people often focus on constantly farming honor rather having fun in pvp, also prenerf alterac valley is gonna be amazing.

Outlands is small and that's a pro for me as world PvP may occur much more often, also no dishonorable kills! You can get decent gear by doing some PvP! And the lovely world PvP objectives!
Was good to have you all

I'd prefer vanilla.

- Flying mounts ruined world pvp and also made the map feel smaller since you could fly to the farthest area's in 5mins.

- Arena and adding resilience, how many of you only play 10 arena games a week? That means it was shit.

- 25man raids, reduced to make getting groups easier. This is the continuation of casualfying of wow.

A few other things.

The good things though are the raids were amazing, I really liked the attunements that needed to be done to get into them. But they then removed those so good one blizzard /s.

I think overall I preferred TBC, though Vanilla did have something TBC didn't.

- Didn't like flying mounts on pvp servers (and because I was poor that 60% flight speed..sooo slow)
- Hated how important arena and resilience was for pvp
- Disliked seasons. Vanilla was great, even though the pvp grind could be retarded, but once you had your gear, you were all set. You just went out into the world and pvp'd, instead of constantly wondering what bg marks you should grind.

So I guess everything I disliked was pvp related. PvE, with attunements, reps, difficult heroics and everything was awesome.

TBC was my favorite. The zone music and feel of the different zones just seemed more interesting to me. I like vanila for now because i was didn't raid in vanilla but i will switch to TBC if it happens; although i'd like to try vanilla naxx.... naxx was my favorite in wrath.

I can actually play Ret at endgame!

I must admit I was a huge noob back in retail Vanilla and TBC, but I feel TBC was the best.

-As you mention, more classes became viable, ret and prot paladin became extremely fun to play. They were my main specs ever since.

Mostly because I actually had an understanding of the game at that point, in the middle of TBC and actually tried raiding etc. It felt like the same game, just with a lot of fixes and tweaks, unlike WotLK which in parts felt like a new game (I really liked WotlK tho).

This is the only private server I ever liked, and have played to max level, because it's so close to retail- and it isn't p2w like the rest. The only thing I don't like is that there is no PvE alternative.

I really hope Nostalrius, unlike what they have already mentioned, will create a TBC server after the timeline has finished.

I preferred BC. Resillience made sense as people in the best pve gear shouldn't destroy people in the best pvp gear. Also game felt a lot more balanced.

TBC > Vanilla, there is no debate. However, Nost > all available TBC servers, so here we are.
