Everybody (and i mean ABSOLUTELY EVERYBODY) who plays WoW should have watched or watch Sword Art Online. One of the greatest animes ever created (at least season one), especially for MMORPG players :)

Other great animes, maybe not everybody has heard about: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (horror, psycho, mystery, comedy), Psycho Pass (crime), Ergo Proxy (mystery, philosophical), Darker Than Black (action mystery) but season one much better than two

SAO....such a pity they didn't explore more of the world. I'd like to see more in those time skips of several months :(

Log Horizon is superior to Sword Art Online in almost every way except for the action scenes. Sword Art Online is basically an NTR soap opera that happens to take place in an MMORPG, but could easily have been done in a generic fantasy setting; Log Horizon on the other hand is actually about an MMORPG and doesn't rely on an overpowered character to make the story progress.

If you don't care about plot, character development, or consistency, watch SAO otherwise you can just YouTube all the fight scenes and the soundtrack because that is the only thing it has going for it.

I will admit I did enjoy parts of Sword Art Online, however so much of it was extremely disappointing and broke my suspension of disbelief (i.e.. made me think what just happened was pants-on-head retarded). Which is sad considering how great the first two episodes were.

The .hack franchise is another that deals with MMORPGs, albeit not the kind you know of today. The story of .hack is more narrative rather than action based, focusing on the RP elements of the equation far more.

If you are interested in spreading your knowledge of anime, here are some of my personal favorites.

Fullmetal Alchemist (2003)
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Cowboy Bebop
Fooly Cooly
Paranoia Agent
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Ghost in Shell
Psycho-Pass
Code Geass
Beyond the Boundary
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Kill La Kill
Death Note
From the New World
Neon Genesis Evangelion

If all you know of anime is from what is shown on western television, you will likely notice that many "popular" animes are missing from this list, there is a reason for that.

Stick with the thread and u will see more animes per day as time passing by, i have watch both SAO and higurashi and i agree they are splendid both of them, i havet saw tho darker than black i will watch a trailer and i will upload it to say something about it, and yeah usually the 1st season is better thatn the 2nd cause things usually arent how we used to see :D

yeah i had the same idea when i saw this anime and i wanted to see the other worlds players created after they lay their hands at that seed. :(

i always have this feeling in each anime i see, that eventually there are things the viewer needs to see and they dont usually show much content and i mean more details about the things that suround the anime either the cities or the world...u and me we need more better ones adveture animes i miss those a lot, like pokemon where they travel a lot but i have my complain there too cause still not even there i didnt get a lot of the enviroment or the chance to see more things, same with inuyasha.
