It's the outdated formal business greetings. It's no longer used in corporate exchanges anymore in the English-speaking world. However, one key feature of the French psyche is to use pompous expressions filled with formalism, that don't reflect in the least what they actually think or feel. It would seem that this phony shit got translated to English when the staff swapped languages, and the antiquated greetings found its way to a kid's game private server. It's just terribly vexing due to how hypocritical it is.

Then again, it's probably just my own phobia. The reason why I always had issues with people's phony attitudes in France while I worked there. That interesting cognitive dissonance between muh professional life/muh private laifu.
