Discuss anything here. But do not forget that our rules still apply !

Exactly my point and as I said prior, "maybe that's just me."

Obviously my choice to play where I want and when I want, but for this reason alone. It's why I sac'd Feenix, Kronos, Rebirth, etc. I don't understand why I would want to invest my time into a server where 5-mans offer better loot than the most end game tier'd content that will be the "focus" for months on end.

It's more so an issue with MC being trivialized more than anything, but it trickles into BWL and ZG as well. Nost had hiccups, sure, but CF has out right said they don't want to do it because it's too much work.

Regarding pre-1.4 itemization and stat changes on items, no. Even if Nost releases all the info, we still probably won't do it. We're going to be running on 1.12.1 spells and talents, so having itemization balanced for that makes sense. If you start rolling back items to previous patch versions, then you have to start considering rolling class spells back as well. Let's take the fear off Deathcoil, and take away Bestial Wrath, and take away this or change that.. You get into this rollback creep that is an absurd amount of work, and it's just not worth it. We're going 1.12.1 stats, spells and itemizations from the start. Content won't all be there at launch, (ie. Maraudon, Dire Maul, Cenarion Hold NPCs, Zandalar Tribe NPCs, Light's Hope Chapel Naxx NPCs, etc.) but when they are added, they will be added in their 1.12.1 form. It's a compromise we're making, but it's as far as we're going to go with it.

They think they'd have to expand it towards talents and spells, which some of it is easier to alter than others. Dunno. Again, "...maybe that's just me." I'm not exactly trying to persuade people not to play CF. Just doesn't really make much sense to me.

Nost was great and popular for a lot of reasons and I'm sure correct itemization and progression was part of that reason.

From what I understood, Crestfall will have progressive itemization. I think the staff changed their mind a bit since the quotes above.

Their won't be as "precise" as the one Nost had, they're basically gonna do two "steps" : pre and post-1.9 (AQ).

Gear that got changed / released on retail in 1.9, 1.10, 1.11 or 1.12 will be changed / added when AQ is released on Crestfall. And most things that where available on retail between 1.0 & 1.9 will be released from the beginning. With ofc all contents from unreleased raids / Mara / DM etc. being released whenever those instances are released, and some exceptions like the green items remaining in their pre-buff state forever.

That's basically what I think I have understood, but indeed one can find quite some stuff and its opposite on their forum / Discord sometimes, and I think they kinda changed the way they had planned things originally.

If anyone has a good understanding of how itemization will work on CF, please share your knowledge :).

Thats not even relevant anymore. They have gotten around to change alot of stuff and there will indeed be itemization progression. Youfie explain it well in his post.
You might dislike the way Kronos, Elysium, Rebirth etc are doing it, but thats not how Crestfall is going to do it. They are going for pretty much a Nost type of itemization, but with less "patches" so to speak. They will have 1, maybe 2, big item updates that will change stuff over the course of vanilla. Thats a good middle ground I think. So you dont have to worry about dungeon gear trivializing MC gear. Its not going to happen, AT ALL.

If you still dislike Crestfall and wont play there thats fine, but let it not be for reasons which arent even true, ye ;)

^ this.. Its basically this way its going to go. Read up on all the latest status updates and you will see for yourself. They did have this big community thing where alot of people helped Darkrasp out so there will definitly be rollbacks on items, just not all of them. Like PvP rank 14 items will be in in their buffed state. But the honor system wont be in from the start. When it launches, basically no one is going to reach R14 until BWL anyway, so its no big deal. They got it all planned. The tier items will stay the same, and thats a very good thing imo. The rest is either rolled back or taken off the tables completely until later.

The thing is, WoW is not our life. We do not need to play it ALL the time to keep ourselves going. While we're waiting for Crestfall to start, we can simply do something else with our lives. It makes no sense to invest in a new char on another realm when we know that we will be starting on CF once it releases.

It's not like Crestfall is a dream job we are hopelessly waiting instead of taking on another one just to sustain ourselves.

http://forums.crestfall-gaming.com/inde ... -spamming/

Crestfallen,

I am writing this short announcement to ask that our members try to avoid spamming Crestfall related content on /r/wowservers. I'm happy people are so enthusiastic about Crestfall, but the spamming of threads will only do more bad than good. We want to be respectful of the mods and other players over there, and not cause a big scene. As many have said, we're not even in beta yet, and no project that hasn't even had a beta should be pushed so hard. Look at No Man's Sky for what happens when you hype something too hard without enough evidence/proof of quality/gameplay.

Regards,
Asura

Q. Okay, so when will the server be released?

A. Our Beta testing process will begin at the end of the summer. Release will depend on how Beta goes. We won't launch until we've fixed up all the major bugs and finished scripting all the content. A rough estimate is year end 2016 for the official launch.

That forumpost only makes you respect Crestfall staff so much more. I totally agree with Asura.

Jesus Christ dude, stop shitting on crestfall with every post you make and find yourself another hobby. Go be annoying to the people who have the misfortune of knowing you in real life.

This is still pretty far off in the future, and we haven't had any serious staff discussion about it.

The current feel is that the TBC realm would be opened in (likely) a patch 2.0.1 state. We would give players some period of time to "flag" their account for transfer beforehand, though some kind of webform perhaps, though accounts could of course be transferred (one-way) at any time afterwards as well. I would think that if you choose to transfer your account, then it gets moved entirely and nothing is left behind.

The exception to that, as stated before, comes only if the populations are very low. We won't split population on a realm with 500 players. In that case every account would be upgraded. This is because of both the economic and financial viability of those servers would come into question.

Feenix style , confirmed 100%.
